It's outrageous that our national public broadcaster is so far behind the American HD rollout and private broadcasters like SportsNET. What are they spending all their money on ... more bilingual programming? Get on with the CBC HD rollout already! That would actually be OUR money actually. What shows do you watch on the CBC that you want to see in HD (other than HNIC)?

Besides Sportsnet ePete, which of those Canadian private broadcasters are outrageously leaving the CBC in their dust with all of their original HD programming. CTV?, Global? I don't think so.

But I agree, criticizing CBC at this stage of the game doesn't seem right. They are taking it much more seriously than CTV or Global!

The CBC took out a big ad in the local paper for Into The West which starts tonight. Will it be in HD, I think it was in HD in the US in the summer.

Also, the HDTV schedule for CBC is way out of date. Is there another way to find out what their HD schedule is?

Until the lockout is over and everyone is back to work, I can't see any sort of realistic schedule being available any time soon.

OCTOBER 3, 2005 - CBC AND CMG REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
The CBC and the Canadian Media Guild have reached a tentative agreement that, if ratified, will end the current lockout of CMG-represented staff at the Corporation.

These last seven weeks have been very difficult for everyone throughout the Corporation, and we will work hard to overcome the challenges that this labour dispute has presented for us – our future as an organization depends on it. We look forward to seeing everyone back at work, doing what they do best: creating and broadcasting exceptional television, radio and online programming for Canadians across the country.

Building on the many successes of CBC Radio, CBC Television and cbc.ca last season, we will be launching a wide array of new programs and content on all our services in the days and weeks to come. Our successes, past and future, are due to the dedication, talent and creativity of everyone who works here – and we are delighted, and more than a little relieved, to welcome all of you back We will provide you with details about returning to work once we have an agreed upon protocol with the CMG.

Hi Marc, any news on the Mount-Royal transmission tower?
I heard that TVA has asked for a temporary license to transmit from their building also because of the Tower problem. This is getting ugly. Is anyone going to fix the problem?

Thanks for having the courage to be online. I wish Shaw would do the same!

Hi Marc, any news on the Mount-Royal transmission tower?

Sorry, I have nothing new to offer on that topic. The transmitter will remain at the CBC building for now.

606? I don't understand the reference.

The schedules are probably a bit scrambled due to the lockout. Earth Energy is the episode we are preparing for broadcast tonight. I had the tape in my hands a minute ago. FYI it's HDCAM 1080i

Marc, Videotron channel 606 is CBCHD. Videotron online TV Guide (http://horairetele.canoe.com/html/horaire-101_numerique.html)does not show it either. Thanks for the update.

In Montreal it's at 9:00 PM. Have scheduled the recording to see if that's it.
