If they've deployed the i-Guide, then yes you probably will have it on your 2000. It works pretty well and it's a lot faster than the crappy old Tan Guide.

Cool. I'm hoping for the dct2000. I discovered online today that the 1000/1200 models don't even have S-video.

I'll reply again when I find out which model I get and the status of the guide. Hopefully, it might help some future customers of theirs and readers here.

iGuide only deployed in Greater Sudbury area. They're looking at deploying it to the other areas soon.

In the meantime, it would be the old Tan guide in the Timmins area for any box.
And it'd be the Blue guide for the Single Tuner box...dual tuner not available in
Timmins at this point. When the iGuide gets launched in Timmins, I'm sure at that point the dual tuner pvr would be available.

If you have any other questions, feel free to pm me.

Well...got up this morning and wife was asking me about the PVR again. She really wants it... Gotta make the wife happy.

Yada, yada, yada....I called Persona today (Sunday) and advised them that I would like to change from a regular DCT to a PVR....I was given the choice of a single tuner or a double tuner.....took the double. Thankfully, the install date hasn't changed.

It is possible that they JUST started offering them here now. I'm looking even more forward to the 18th now.:)

What HD channels does Persona Carry? There website is useless and the online zap2it listings don't show any HD channels eithers.

If you follow this link and just click through 3 or 4 times you get a page showing what they supposedly offer for HD and sports packages.

I agree that Zap2it shows nothing regarding HD, NHL CI, ETC... I wonder if Zap2it hasn't received an update line-up yet or how it works. They show channels listed for Timmins that don't exist here like 420 (Sex TV), 576 (OMNI 1) or 605 (Movieola).

Hi all,

I've checked, and there have been some lineup changes in Sudbury (not in Timmins) but they seem to have incorrect information.

But in regards to HD, it is only available in Rebuilt areas in Sudbury only (not currently Timmins) but they offer the following:

402 - Sportsnet HD
403 - TSN HD
405 - Discovery HD
413 - CBC HD (English/Toronto)
414 - CBC HD (French/Toronto)
415 - Global HD
417 - CTV HD (Toronto)
419 - CityTV HD
422 - ABC HD (Seattle)
423 - CBS HD (Seattle)
424 - NBC HD (Seattle)
425 - PBS HD (Spokane)
426 - FOX HD (Seattle)
427 - ABC HD (Detroit/Buffalo) - recieved from Rogers
428 - CBS HD (Detroit/Buffalo) - recieved from Rogers
429 - NBC HD (Detroit/Buffalo) - recieved from Rogers
430 - FOX HD (Detroit/Buffalo) - recieved from Rogers
437 - TMN HD
438 - PPV HD

So basically I believe everything that Rogers has to offer for HD, is available from Persona.

Thank you for posting that information. Do you happen to know what channels the Sports Package Channels are on? I wish persona would put up the channel guides and pricing. It's the only cable website that I'm aware that provides almost no real information.

Judging by the HD line-up you posted, even the SD channels are inaccurate on my website.

Yes, they are, there have been some changes in regards to the lineup for the Sudbury area. The Regional and Timeshift Paks were pulled together into a package called the Digital Starter.

If you want to PM me I can advise you of the changes that were made. The website is a bit of a mess right now, but I know they're updating it and it has taken some time but it should be up and running normally very soon.

I'd like to what the digital starter pack includes...just curious really.;)

We are next to get it up here....

BTW...this must be the longest thread related to Persona anywhere.

In Timmins, its your Regional Pak and your Timeshift Pac. That's about all it includes. They were just reassigned into the 100s down here.

Your right, this is the longest Persona thread I've ever seen..guess being 6th largest doesn't get you a lot of attention? :)

Hello all...

Well, I did get a DCT6412 with the I-guide. The guy said that it was the only box that they have right now even if you didn't order a PVR (they must disable the HD).

The appointment was between 4 and 6 this afternoon and he showed up at 5:12. Was quick, even hooked it up with my S-video cable when I told him that I wanted it done that way.

I'm happy...the wife is happy. We recorded two programs already and are just trying to get used to the delay when changing channels but nothing serious though.:D

Zap2it is finally showing an updated line-up for Sudbury. One can only assume it is correct.

I can't wait to see some of the channels that are listed whenever they get added up here. ;)

I can confirm its correct, except in the range of 445-452 there is a listing of channels that are not correct ;). We would use that range also for NFLST and NHLCI. looks like somehow zap2it thinks its our PPV, which is in the 700s in Sudbury. Also I can confirm dual-tuner in Timmins ;). Obviously, there was an error provided to us CSRs in regards to its availability in the area. And its not a matter of disabling HD, just the lineup for Timmins doesn't have any HD channels because...there are none up there (yet) ;). Look to 2006 for that to be completed.

I noticed it yesterday and have started to update the persona cable line-ups on my site.

Are the PPV channels you talking about have an initial of "IN" in Zap2it? These are actually the Nascar in Car Racing channels. They are a sharted feed with Indemand in the US.

Is TRN, Gol TV, Fight Network and World Fishing Network available on Persona?

Yup, for some reason Zap2it doesn't have them in the right spot. We do have those starting with next season for Nascar (after Daytona), as we do recieve those feeds from Rogers directly (same with NFLST/NHLCI/MLBXI), so they'd be in the exact same channel placements as Rogers (a realignment was recently done to facilitate this).

We do have TRN, but not Gol TV n'or Fight or Fishing Network at this time.

TRN is the 3 channel+alpha numeric, not the 1 channel + Alpha Numeric feed, just as an FYI. Those are from 420-424.

HTH, sorry about not getting the lineup out to you, been really busy @ work.

The positioning shown in Zap2it is the same as rogers (Channels 420-469)

Can I assume that all the channels between 420-469 are not listed correctly?

Could you provide the channel ranges for each of the sports packages?

ryans...you might be able to shed some light on this.

Why do we (in Timmins area) have The Shopping Channel on analog channel 70 AND on digital 109??? I've email the company in the past to find this out but have never gotten an answer...;) It's looks a little stupid in the guide seeing 70 and 109 right next to each other showing the same thing all the time.

I can understand having channels like Prime or Family Channel on both...they have "programming", are in packages and have East and West feeds.

Sure, I'd be more than happy to shed some light on that!

It has to do with how the digital signals are sent out. In some areas, we have The Shopping Channel on Analogue, in some areas, we don't ;). But since its all fed from the same digital headend (in Sudbury), we have to make sure we cover all the bases, in some instances, duplication does occur. For example, in Sudbury areas that are rebuilt, we have Telelatino on Analogue 71 as well as Digital 108. But in the non-rebuilt areas (small towns outside the city) they don't have it on Analogue. So we have to make sure it gets out there to everyone.

I believe in Timmins, we feed out to Kapuskasking and Hearst and they don't have TSC on Analogue. I can double check when I work again on Monday. But yes, it would seem weird if your in Timmins. And in reality the difference would be adding 1 digital channel to the area, so in the end its probably not worth the hassle for them to do that (from a technical standpoint).

I know the answers a bit long and wordy, but I think it explains my point? :). If not, then just respond and I'll do my best to reply.
