The new GODSMACK changes dvd is one of the best sounding disks I have ever heard.
Alice in Chains unplugged is great
and The Last Waltz special edition is a must have as well

Alice in Chains unplugged is great

So the audio's good? I had taped this off Much Music when it was on. It was great, especially when they opened with Nutshell.
Such a shame Layne's gone.

The only one I have is No Doubt-Rock Steady Live Tour. It's one of my favorite DVD's to throw on. DTS 5.1 doesn't hurt either.

I agree with Splash re: NIN. I saw the tour at Maple Leaf Gardens, and the DVD sounds a LOT better (MLG was always a horrible concernt venue).
Another fav: Roxy Music at the Apollo

Wish List: Peter Gabriel - POV (the SO tour)

the audio is great. If I had to complain at all, it might be a tad bit boomy at times, other wise it is top notch.

Just watched "Stop Making Sense" (Talking Heads) and I have fallen in love with it once again. An amazing live concert, with truly fantastic sound.

Glad to see someone else who enjoys Phil Collins on the forum here.

Live and Loose is a great concert DVD, but I think (hope) I will be making it my second favorite Phil DVD when the Final Farewll Tour DVD gets here. Managed to see the performance in Boston live and it was an awesome experience.

I'm hoping it arrives by this time next week!

Has anyone seen/heard this new dvd as yet? I haven't read a review as yet, but did read an editorial review at 'amazon.ca'. Sounds like she's "changing", under the influence of (husband) Costello, et al. I haven't heard her last cd, but guess it contained lots of material written by Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell. Apparently, 9 of 13 selections on this new dvd offering include such Waits and Mitchell songs, along with 5 Costello-Krall compositions. I really like 'Live in Paris' -- I've passed on this offering so far -- I'm scared the Diana I love has changed too much for me.

It was very self-serving of me to start this thread. As a result, I have bought two DVDs based on the recommendations here.

Sting - All this Time: I definitely was planning on getting something by Sting but wasn't sure what to get and I definitely like the jazz path he took since his Police days. It is amazing watching the documentary of the musicians gathering and rehearsing up to the day of the show, Sept 11, 2001.
They decided to do the show anyways but with a more somber setlist. But you could see the catharsis set in after a few songs and the joy of music rise above that terrible day. Great DVD, great music. Thanks for the rec on that!!

Diana Krall - Live in Paris: Were it not for the recommendations here I would never have bought a Diana Krall show. I do love jazz, but for some reason I thought Diana was over-rated. A great crooner and OK pianist, but figured she was one of those flavour-of-the-year deals.

Oh God I was so wrong. The girl can play with the heavyweights. And her voice adds such sensuality to songs like Cry Me a River.
I just finished watching the first hour and I am ecstatic over this. This is top notch musicianship...she has a great band here, and exactly the type of jazz jams I thrive on (and aspire to as a guitarist). I had to force myself to stop watching because I want to savour it, and come back to a fresh hour later on. Thanks so much for this recommendation!!

I definitely need to see this girl play next time she comes around here!

I also like Iron Maiden in Rio but the greatest concert DVD of all time has to be Metallica S&M with the symphony. Even people who hate Metallica agree.
