The Matrix Trilogy (Matrix, Reloaded, Revolutions) - They remain stunning films to watch, even if the second and third movies are somewhat overwrought in comparison to the more artfully restrained first installment.

Dodgeball - Still love thios movie. Very funny. Vaughn is so smooth with his delivery.

Happy Gilmore - Great sports movie. Always have loved this one.

Billy Madison - Too bad Sandler plays such a dork in this one, because it is really funny.

Just bought - Toy Story 10th, Matrix Box Set, Tommy Boy 10th.

Great show. Cleaver dry humour.
Agree!! especially about the "cleaver" dry humour part!! ;) It's my lady-friend's favourite amongst all our most recent additions and viewings!! Dr. House (the guy) is some good -- the role and the actor!!

Glad to hear you like it Johnp!

Just finished watching The rage of Placid Lake. An indy Australian film. Highly recomend. It is a very refreshing movie about growing up, choices, and being a young adult in a world where rules are set in stone. It is nice to see a movie that has nothing Hollywood offers but gives you 100 times more back than most Hollywood films ever do.

Watched Edward Scissorhands last night for the first time in probably 15 years. Really enjoyed it...again. I had completely forgotten its fairytale quality and the fact that one of the lead characters in it - Peg Boggs the Avon Lady - is played by a really great actor Dianne Wiest. Not to mention Johnny Depp's always impressive acting job as Edward himself. Lots of fun moments in this older Tim Burton flick. Oh yes, and Alan Arkin too - another good actor.

Watched Universal's new Legacy Edition of To Kill a Mockingbird last night. What a wonderful movie!! G. Peck sure deserved his oscar. I had forgot just how good that guy was -- so smooth. Universal has done a great job with the transfer, and packaging (with great extra's, etc.). What a great piece of work to add to my collection, and watch again some time!!

MitchM ..... my lady-friend 'encouraged' me (= pushed me!!) to pick up Edward Scissorhands last year -- apparently, it was one of her favourite movies, I had never seen it. We were both glad I did. I had seen 'promo's' for this movie, and never thought it to be something I would ever wish to watch. I was quite surprised, and really enjoyed the viewing. I now have several other Johnny Depp movies in my collection.

Me too - Finding Neverland, Sleepy Hollow, Secret Window, Pirates of the Caribbean, From Hell, and Edward Scissorhands.
As I mentioned, I'm a big fan of Dianne Wiest too. So far, I only own two that she's in. The other being September. I've lost count of the number of times I've watched that film over the years. It stars Mia Farrow, Sam Waterston, Denholm Elliott, Elaine Stritch, and Jack Warden. All great actors, IMHO. Written and directed by Woody Allen. There's something about it that just keeps drawing me back to it over and over again.
And then there's Assault On Precinct 13 that I viewed a week ago - what a dog! Thoroughly disappointing. I couldn't get through it even once.....just too far fetched for my taste. A whole corrupt city police department tries to take down a couple of decent cops, using police choppers even and a whole arsenal of weapons...like, give me a break.

Well For my birthday this week the wife and kids, got me
Boxed set Indiana Jones- always good for a boring night, watched them all over again this weekend
the Eagles Farewell 1 tour- Great DVD, Picture quality is super good< audio excellent, probably too good as it almost sounds not natural for a live performance, but none the less a great addition to my Music DVD collection.

Well there's a grateful husband and father for ya !
I think you probably meant that had you not had your Indiana Jones to watch, the night would have been boring. At first glance, it seemed you weren't too impressed with your birthday present.
Now, if they gave you Assault On Precinct 13 for your birthday I'd back you if you disowned the lot of them....LOL :D

I prefer the original John Carpenter directed Assault on Precinct 13 compared to the remake which is forgettable and unnecessary. I didn't outright hate the movie but, I found it to be subpar.

No I do LOVE my Indiana, and Eagles, Both were great gifts,
MY oldest gave me a supper gift. A new CD wallet filled with 20
freashly minted ;) music CD's to replace some of the 60 CD's that I lost
a month ago when some jerk broke into my car and stole all my music, now that was an awesome gift seeing as how he is a pretty busy guy and usually works 60 -70 hrs a week and spare time is not very easy to come by for him. :)

My son is studying that (novel) in high school right now. I didn't know they had released a new version but will definitely have to go rent it. I still remember reading that book in high school (circa 1970) which really says something about its lasting effect.

Constantine - Having survived attempted suicide at an early age, John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) now works to rid the world of evil and to avoid eternal damnation for his sin. His latest undertaking - to help a policewoman (Rachel Weisz) solve the mystery of her twin sister's suicide - seems fairly straightforward. All Hell, however, is about to break loose.

An enjoyable film with interesting concepts and some very cool special effects.
