Yes Shaw Guru that is the same format that my bill is in.
I have an entertainment bundle total of 94.95, but no separate totals for internet/tv. I realize I can log onto Shaw's web site and calculate my individual totals that way, but I should not have to. I am curious to know if anyone else in the greater Vancouver area has had their bill formatted this way?

had my service call today..while it's frustrating, especially given it turns out my low signal level diagnosis was correct, that it took 3 service calls over 3 months to fix, but..it's fixed. for reference, the signal strength went from 27.6 ,"poor" and tons of errors on my pace box to 33.8, 0 errors and "good". (tested on the problematic mc 211 and 212 channels) from my experience, anything over 30 appears to work fine without errors causing video/audio dropouts. the tech was not a senior tech as I had requested, but he seemed pretty sharp compared to the other 2 guys i dealt with. here's what he did:

-took signal readings at the juncture box outside and replaced connectors (i saw them myself.. a little bit corroded from normal wear and tear over years i expect)
-took signal readings at the junction inside the house. signal was good now, but he inspected some of the cable ends and felt a few might be potentially shorting so he replaced all the cable ends at the junction.
-put on a motorola booster..nice thing about this one is unlike the one i had sitting around and had used temporarily, it has a passive return to the head end and had 4 outputs instead of 2 which is fabulous as while i was able to get a stronger signal to my pace pvr using the home amp solution, i had to pick and choose which would get the boost (obviously the pace hdpvr was priority one) but my signal was still low to my dct2500 box and my 2 hauppauge tuner cards on my computer.

i'm a very happy camper now with 4 tuners all getting strong signals, just in time for the new fall tv season!

Tenax, that's pretty much what Shaw did for me back when I got my first HD box, the 5100. I still get the occasional sound drop or box 'freeze', but in the main I've had many happy hours of viewing. Glad you got it straightened away!

Thanks Nanuuk..I've been assessing channel quality pretty much continuously today since the work was done and i'm very happy..not only no dropouts, but a noticeable improvement in the general hd quality..but as always with shaw, fingers and toes are always crossed:)

After reading about your service call, tenax, I think I'll c..l for one as well. At least I can elim...te a poor signal as one of the causes to my audio d...outs.
I'm glad your sig..l appears to be better and th..ks for the update.

PS sorry for all my drop-outs ;)

Just had my internet and phone installed on Monday.. had a 5-7 PM install window, tech came at 5:00 sharp. Tech was very friendly and was gone by 5:45. He said our levels were unusually strong, which means he didn't need to install a bunch of amplifiers. It's nice having this all free of charge. I'm getting really good speeds with the internet and the phone is very clear and nice. For about a day, the sound drops became a bit like how people have described, and occasionally it got staticky. Then, the next day, it seemed a lot better. It's very high quality.

he's trying to say that if enough people asked for wwe channel 24/7 it would be provided..i assume he had a number of people do so, but shaw is not following through? and that when shaw says you get all digital channels free for a month, that are not pay per view i assume, they they should provide all free. i.e. santana sports which i assume is not pay per view but on a premium tier.

I just had a small problem with shaw HD Box (Not PVR)
The installer showed up and started installing the " NEW " HD box to my TV.
The box was marked " Refirbished " ( Spelling ? )
I told the installer " Wait I don't want a Refirbished HD Box "
The installer told me to call customer service. The customer service
person told me they are just a good a new .
The I said to customer service " How much do I get OFF for a Refirbished
HD Box ? His reply was " Nothing "
I told the installer ( After he completed ) Hook up everything back to the way it was and take the HD Box with you.
5 days later an installer showed up with a " New HD Box "

Good for you that you told them to take it back.
It's BS that they sell you a "new" box and bring you a refurbished one and try to make you take it.
There is a previous thread on this, looks like they've tried to pull this before! I'm guessing they're flooded with trade in's so they're trying to push these back onto customers who don't know better!

Chances are the refurbished box is a good as the one you bought, just without the problems. I draw the line where they try and give you an older model.

Unless you get a bogus refurb what is the fuss about? The rep should tell you when you are buying it that it is refurbed that is the only beef. Refurb savs you money and works the same as "Shiny new"

Reasons people are upset about receiving a refurbished unit:
1) They were not told it was a refurbished unit
2) They were not told it was a refurbished unit when exchanging their new unit that broke
3) Refurbished units are not 'shiney new'. They tend to have scratches and blemishes new units do not have.

4) How about as in my Post # 452 . I will not pay the same price for a refurbished one as a new one.

So does a used car, but I'm not paying full price for one.

If we were renting, then Shaw can use whatever old boxes they want so long as they work. But we're BUYING these boxes. I don't consider refurbs "as good as new".
