Did you know that you can Recycle rechargeable batteries?
To find the nearest location where you can take your dead rechargeable batteries click here (http://www.rbrc.org/consumer/clocate.html). For most Canadians you'll find a retail store nearby that will take your dead batteries so I encourage you to do so since batteries contain many toxic chemicals.
Unfortunately no network appears to exist for recycling single use batteries or that will take back single use batteries for proper disposal.
In Toronto, the only place that I could find was the hazardous materials drop off centers owned by the city. What they do with them is unknow and unfortunately the drop off locations are iconvenient and only open for limited times.
What I'd like members to do is to post places that will take dead single use batteries and properly dispose of them.
