I'm watching the latest episode of The Good Wife on CBS (channel 201 on Shaw). The current time is on screen, not quite in the middle of the screen, but enough to annoy the hell outta me & my gf. Same thing happened last week. What gives?? Is this a Global BC thing or CBS?

Wish I could take a screenshot but it's too much effort right now :p

I believe it's a Global thing.

At first, during last week's episode, we thought it was part of the show, where a timeline of events is displayed periodically. But it stayed on screen for way too long, then disappeared after the first commercial break. Can't believe it happened two weeks in a row.

I don't recall seeing any clock, and I am a Bell TV sub. I also watched it on CBS, if it means anything.

That's why, you need to watch it from Global to get those "time reminders".

Last winter, Global Montreal had display problem with their snipes, so only the text appeared but not the background. They fixed it recently, like a month ago.

There's a snipe for Lotto Max (pan-canadian lottery) appearing normally after the first commercial break on the lower left corner, and the current time appears on top of it, adjusted right. My theory is that some similar snipe was about to be display, the time display got stuck, and since everything is centralized and automated, nobody at Global broadcasting center in Winnipeg noticed the error.

The reason why you noticed this for the last 2 weeks is that Global used to air the show at 10pm in post-CBS release, but recently moved it down to 9pm in simulcast so they can air NYC 22 in simulcast at 10pm since April 15. Don't worry, NYC 22 contains only 4 episodes.
