I have the NYR-WAS game on but muted. But did CBC just cut during live play to a commercial break?

Yes. Then they repeated the same three commercials during the stoppage in play.

Did they apologize when they came back or make any mention of it?

Not that I heard. It sounded like they rejoined the commentators in mid-sentence so the latter probably don't know anything about it yet.

Was anyone watching on the CBC website? Were the commercials ran there as well or did they stick with live play?

BTW I was watching CBC's Toronto affiliate. Though I don't think that would matter too much as I assume it happened right across the CBC network.

It happened on CBC toronto and Montreal, but I switched to Vancouver and it was fine. Both during the game and during Coach's Corner.

Also I don't know if this is noteworthy, but the Montreal and toronto commercials were different.

Nope it didn't. When they cut to the commercial on CBC Toronto (on Bell Sat.) by accident, I switched to OTA CBC Charlottetown to see if the mistake was network wide. It wasn't. Charlottetown was broadcasting the game. I also don't think CBC Vancouver was affected. Sometimes time shifting and OTA is very handy to have.

It did happen OTA on CBET (Windsor).

At what time did it happen (either game or real time). I am recording the game on CBOT(Ottawa) OTA and went to 7:59 (when you made the post) and it was well into the intermission. I tried finding the commercial breaks and all the ones tagged seemed normal. I also watched the last few mins of the period and there weren't any commercial breaks.

I would say, half way through the first. I was watching it on CKPR and was surprised that it went straight to commercial when the play was still going on.

Trevor Pilling‏ @TP_Producer

Apologies to everyone watching #HNIC who's feed was interrupted. The machine playing back commercials had a problem. I'm told it's fixed.

It happened around the 11 minutes remaining mark of the 1st period... not sure the exact time stamp, and it appears to have occurred only on certain CBC stations (CBLT, CBET, CBMT, CKPR) and not others (CBCT, CBUT).

It also took me a few minutes to go on the site and post, so it would had likely been before that.

Elliotte Friedman has re-tweeted Trevor Pilling's apology so looks as if it affected some stations. (https://twitter.com/#!/FriedgeHNIC/status/197850376437899264). As a side, I wish CBC had their staff verify their twitter accounts as legit. Sigh.

Some people to took to Twitter to put their frustration out there. I personally think this tweet was funny Mitch Melnick ‏ @HunterZThompson

Can't blame Bob Cole for commercials during live action on HNIC #getuouracttogetherhttps://twitter.com/#!/HunterZThompson/status/197837170399133696

So looks as if the 7:30 early game will end after the 9:00pm late game tonight. Triple OT! About time... but you know TSN (and to an extent CNBC) can't be happy about it...

Sounds like it only happened on the Eastern time zone feed.

No problems here in NB...well, except the final score.

Go Caps.

I went back and found it. For some reason MyrhTV didn't flag it as a commercial break.

So we can add CBOT to the list of CBLT, CBET, CBMT, CKPR that were affected.

Round 3 Schedule...

The National Hockey League announced today the dates, start times and national television coverage for Games 1 and 2 of the Conference Final round of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Western Conference Final opens Sunday, May 13 in Glendale, Arizona, where the Phoenix Coyotes will host the Los Angeles Kings at Jobing.com Arena (8 p.m., ET, NBC Sports Network, TSN, RDS). Game 2 of the series will be played in Glendale on Tuesday, May 15, beginning at 9 p.m., ET.

Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference Final will be played on Monday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 16, respectively, and pit the New Jersey Devils against the winner of the Conference Semifinal series between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals. That series currently is deadlocked at 3-3, with Game 7 set for Saturday night in New York (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network, CBC, RDS).

Should the Rangers advance, they would host the Devils in Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference Final at Madison Square Garden in New York. Should the Capitals win, the Devils would host Washington in Games 1 and 2 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=631310

Also, TSN has announced they have Game 3 of the Western Final, which is TBA.

The Western Conference Final takes centre stage on TSN, as Canada's Sports Leader has the first three games of the third round series featuring the Phoenix Coyotes taking on the L.A. Kings.http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=395580

This was talked about a lot on PTS today. Basically, CBC and TSN may flip games/series later in the round because of potential scheduling issues at both Staples Center (Kings, Lakers, Clippers) and on NBC (137th running of the Preakness).

As noted in the NHL release, the WAS-NYR Game 7 will air on RDS. It was - at least at one point - scheduled to air on RDSI.

Well TSN only has rights to 3 Conference Finals games, so I don't see what they have to flip.
