I just got my gateway installed yesterday. I swapped all my pvr's so I guess I'm all-in. I've been monitoring the gateway threads and done some searching but I can't find answers to my questions below.

1. when you setup a series recording it doesn't show the channel? does it only record on the channel that the recording was based on or does it record across all channels?

2. is there any way to have 2 recordings of the same program? I like to have a HD recording of the office but I only want to see new episodes whereas my daughter likes to have a series recordings on a different channel that records repeats. I tried to set it up this way but it seemed that the second series recording overwrote the first one I had setup.

From my understanding it will only record on the station you selected. Like the other PVR's. If you set up to record show "A" on channel 200 it won't record "A" on any other channel.

As for the second question, I think you are correct. It does appear to update your selection, I did try to set up two separate recordings of the same show on different channels and it gave me the 'program already set to record' comment.

There may be a way but I am not completely sure how.

It does show the channel the series is set for if you go into the 'Options' menu from the My Recordings or PVR List. They show up under 'series options'.

I think you have found another 'limitation' of the 'recording logic' of the system. I really would have loved to have been in the room when they laid out this 'logic' because I doubt there was anyone there who had ever actually used a PVR.
