Have a Dell, running Vista home basic version...

On this PC, iTunes is installed - my daughter has a couple iPods. The problem I have, is iTunes constantly pops up (screen keeps switching to it), even if someone is reading a news article, or whatever. For example - I will be reading an article on whatever news site - seems every 5 minutes (maybe even less) iTunes takes over (switches over to) my screen.

This more than a minor annoyance! How do I stop iTunes from doing this?

Is it a pop-up box or does the entire application take over the screen? Do you get a message?

Could the iPods be trying to sync to iTunes automatically wirelessly? This happens to me with my iPhone.

Hugh - It's the entire application. Even if I close it, it will re-open.

Huge pain in the butt!!!! Can't find anything on how to stop this from happening. I am sure it's some type of setting, but wow, talk about annoying!

Under Preferences check on the Prevent Devices from Syncing Automatically box.

Open device page in iTunes under Summary and make sure the top box under options is unchecked: "Open iTunes when this iPad/device is connected".
