I have House as a recoding set to record only new, last recording was supposed to be "Transplant" but it recorded another program all together

I went to VOD to watch the eppisode but kept getting error messages whenever I tried to rent the video  In frustration I went to Settings and did a network refresh, and that permitted the VOD program to be run

@Ehmand - yeah - part of the puzzle - but still no guide icon for the Food Network, and CTV as already mentioned. When I scroll the vertical guide quickly, they come in handy.

Wonder what the holdup is with Shaw dealing with that?

OK, correction to part one of my post, the house issue was not a gateway thing, it was Fox programming, phew, luckily it is available on VOD TV :).

Hi, Are the Shaw's PVR's and Gateway managed by the same persons. The reason why I asked is that the same shows on the Gateway are in a few instances different from the PVR's. One example;
As I write this Sunday, 16th october, 2011.
On Shaw's Gateway - Channel 86 at 5.00 p.m. displays ---Tigers & Rangers. On Shaw's PVR3416 - Channel 86 at 5.00 p.m. displays------- X Factor.
Why the difference???????
Also one day both the Gateway and the PVR titled a show - Matchpoint
What actually showed at the same time on both was Unforgiving Kingdom with
Jackie Chan. I am speaking about the same channel, same time. This happened more than once for this particular movie.
Can anyone advise.
Thank you.

Search function still useless.

Also had my first recording issue tried to record community last week and it didn't record the first 10min or the last 3min.

Went to the search function to find another playing of the episode but that reverts you back to issue 1 the search doesn't find half the stuff playing

Since the iS2 update every now and then I get a lime green tear across the bottom of the screen, it goes away instantly but it should not be happening.

I have noticed it only with recorded programs. Has anyone else seen this?

My son saw the "What does Shaw mean to you?" commercial the other day. He turned to the TV and answered "TV that doesn't work anymore!"

SERIOUSLY SHAW, FIX ALL THESE BUGS!

It is interesting that there once was a time when cable was the answer to the problem of 'poor TV signal'. Now it seems we have come full circle and an antenna is once again the better way to get your TV signals? I guess the real problem is the boxes and what they are trying to allow us to do with the signals we want to watch.

I have had another occurrence of a 'split' recording only this time it wasn't really split. It was more of a 'duplication' but the weird thing is the actual recording, from the same time and channel, didn't show up until the next day, again. The first part said it was a minute long but was really only about 3 seconds. The night it was supposed to record, the '1 minute' recording was all that showed in the recordings list. The next morning there was a second entry showing 29 minutes and sure enough that was the full recording that had not been there the night before.

I have pictures as proof. I also recorded a second showing on the time shift feed and it was also 29 minutes so I'm really at a loss as to how to explain the first instance of a single minute and then the whole show turning up later. Very odd indeed.

Have had the new gateway for almost a week now,

noticing audio sync issues on various channels, HD and non HD while watching live tv, not sure if its any different with recordings.. sometimes its ok and other times its quite bad, a second or 2 off sync. power cycle doesnt seem to help when its out of sync.

am i the only person with this problem?

Never had this problem on 6416 PVR's

Just wondering if others are still having issues with blocks of channels missing in the grid guide after editing the channel list? Its the only issue I am having with the system and although the other channel list is usable I do miss the grid guide.

I have tried various combinations of selecting/deselecting channels, which does affect what shows up in the guide, but never been able to find a combination that shows the channels we have without an excessive amount we don't.

Incidentally our 2 portals give different results of missing channels, so I assume the bug is in the portal rather than what the gateway is feeding them.

I haven't called Shaw about since it seemed a bigger issue than just my setup, but if anyone has feedback to the contrary please let me know.

Cheers

^ Hi there, if both TV's / Portals are displaying different channels then each has to be aligned individually from the set up menu. Each portal is independent when one is selecting what they want to display in the guide or not. I would see if both are set up the same in this area (set up menu) and then check the Grid Guide after writing down which ones are missing and supposed to be for comparison.

Thanks Shaw Champ - i'll double check as I am going a little off the top of my head, but am fairly certain that both portals have the same channels selected/deselected in the list, however are missing different blocks in the grid guide

I would double check to make sure. If you can get the info on what you are seeing, such as the stations and channel range / blocks, that would be very helpful. Apart from this how are things going generally with the Gateway system?

Will report back with some definite info after work.

Otherwise the system has been very painless for us;
- Skipping/fast forwarding can be a bit stuttery but not a big deal
- Once in a blue moon freezes or loses connection to the gateway for a second or 2, but happens rarely enough to not be a bother
- I have seen the green line others have mentioned but blink and you miss it so again no big deal
- Noticed 2 or 3 inaccuracies with the guide over the weekend, think it may have been the same channel though so I assume nothing to do with Shaw

Thats really all I can think of. I get the impression that we perhaps dont have the amount of usage as other here but really what I mention above is nit picking - the system has worked for me as advertised and having the centralised pvr cant be beat.

Looking forward to being able to set recordings with my phone and maybe stream my movies around etc!

Hi all,

Since last Friday ( Oct.21) my Grid Guide only shows current programming. When I click on Info button, I can only see "watch" and "close" options. I don't see option to record anymore. Should I unplug the Gateway and reboot again? I just called Shaw but have to wait for 2+ hours for them to call back.

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know if the IR on the Portal's are Single Band Frequency or Dual Bad Frequency?

I would like to setup my Portal away from my TV and want to use an IR Repeater to control it. I've searched the forum and I came up with nothing.

Thanks in advance!
