: NHL Center Ice 2011-12 Question
MrGrinch 2011-10-24, 06:19 PM I can confirm what someone else mentioned in this post that NHL Gamecentre Live is no longer available to new subs. Being from Winnipeg and going through a bit of a hockey renaissance we decided to subscribe this year and found out that this is no longer included. Too bad... we called too and mentioned to Bell that their website is inaccurate on this...
http://tvonline.bell.ca/tvonline/servlet/CommandServlet?command=flow&processid=87
(see the "what programs are available" section)
HydrogenCyanide 2011-11-04, 04:03 PM I have no idea why the decided to not give new subs a code. I was just about to subscribe until I saw that. If I am going to pay $200 to watch hockey, I want to be able to watch everywhere.
craigs10 2011-11-05, 03:49 AM I'm looking for a schedule for NHL CI for the Toronto Region for Bell.
I found some for past seasons, but have yet to find one for this one.
For example, 07-08 http://www.bell.ca/web/tv/en/all_regions/pdfs/nhl_schedule.pdf
Does anyone know if or when Bell will release a schedule like this for this season?
markb 2011-11-05, 01:58 PM They won't. They never did last year. You can go to the NHL's website and they list the games and what channels are covering them. If there is tv coverage, they will be on Centre Ice.
craigs10 2011-11-06, 01:31 AM arggh i wish they werent so lazy sometimes
dgour98 2011-11-20, 11:08 PM hello,
In previous years while paying Bell for their Centre Ice packgage, i was always able to watch it online as well.
I've tried a few times now but it doesn't work. Has that practice been stopped? (would tie into the Gamecentre site from NHL.com, as well as the NHL app on the PS3)
This season no luck. Did i miss an activation code from Bell or something?
thanks for any help.
DSgamby 2011-11-20, 11:25 PM You need to get the Game Centre Live code from Bell. Call them and ask for the code. It might take time to get the code.
This season, for you to be able to get the code, you must have Game Centre Live last season,
SnooPac 2011-11-23, 08:13 PM Is it just me or is bell somehow not showing Crosby's 2nd game back in hd tonight. This makes me sad.
dgour98 2011-11-23, 09:49 PM thanks DSGamby. But i found it. I needed to login to bell.ca/hockeyonline and
they give you a promo code there. So i managed to get it going and the PS3 as well.
Problem tho is it seems very choppy tonight and a few minutes ago the site won;t even load. Netflix is fine however. Maybe too many people trying to watch the Boston-Buffalo rematch game. ;)
PS: ya i noticed Crosby wasn't in HD on tv tonight either.
markb 2011-11-23, 11:44 PM Must have been too many games tonight. Pit/Stl not in HD and MIN/NAS & ANA/PHX were only available in HD, no SD coverage. I think Bell needs more channels.
bartlett 2011-11-25, 02:07 PM But the NHLH5 channel had no game on and Pit/Stl was boardcasted in HD but we only got SD on Bell...Shaw and Eastlink had the game in HD
hwy19man 2011-12-13, 04:27 PM I have noticed that for tonight's Flames game at Nashville is not offered in HD on Bell. Is that an error?
The Bell TV online page, http://tvonline.bell.ca/tvonline/servlet/CommandServlet?command=flow&processid=152 is not showing the Flames game on any of its HD channels, 1451-1457.
The schedule guide also shows that the Devils-Florida and Stars-Rangers games are not available in SD. The Stars-Rangers game is available in HD only.
moosefan 2012-01-10, 07:48 PM Tonight's Jets vs Bruins game is not in HD on Centre Ice. You would think it would be easy for them to just remap the TSN Jets HD feed for CI. Thumbs Down for not having this game in HD!
mark_b 2012-01-11, 02:36 AM Too many other games on in HD tonight. The Jets game was available in HD to their local viewing region. They needed the HD channels for other games and even then some were joined in progress. I do believe they should have 10 HD channels for Centre Ice so they can carry them all.
Interceptor 2012-01-11, 07:39 PM It should be a matter of priority. This Thursday, the 12th of January, the Flames HD broadcast will be passed over for the second time in the last couple of weeks for games between Carolina-Tampa, Minnesota-Chicago, Colorado-Nashville and Phoenix-Detroit. This is really maddening as the reason I get Centre Ice is to watch the Flames and I bet there is a lot more buyers of Centre Ice who are Flames fans or Jets fans than these other teams. I mean Carolina-Tampa, over Calgary-Anaheim, you've got to be kidding.
It's like the programmer at Bell has it in for the Flames or the Jets.
Interceptor 2012-01-11, 09:29 PM Update on the Flames - Anaheim game, it is being broadcast in HD but it will be joined in progress an hour later. Still is a bad deal as they could change it to follow the Sens game on 1451, which starts at 4 PM and probably wouldn't interfere with the Flames game.
Anyways I phoned the Bell cancellation dept. and got a $20 credit but still I'm paying for something I'm not getting.
tofinoguy 2012-01-12, 09:44 PM What are you paying for that you are not getting? Bell doesn't advertise that they provide every Centre Ice game in HD. In fact, it's only about half of them.
"With more than 1,000 out-of-market regular season hockey games, including over 500 in stunning HD, you never have to miss a minute of the action."
Bell provided information to you that indicated that not all games are in HD. But you ordered it anyway. That's your fault, not Bell's. I cancelled Centre Ice a few years ago for similar reasons, but in no way do I think that Bell mislead me or that I was paying for something that I wasn't receiving.
Interceptor 2012-01-13, 07:48 AM Well, I've had Centre Ice for 6 years now and I haven't missed a Flames game that has been broadcast in HD in all of that time. This season is a first and since I get Centre Ice to watch the Flames and I'm not the only fan doing this and since it's a Canadian team with a lot more followers in Bell's broadcast area than say Tampa Bay, I expect them to broadcast the Calgary game instead of the Tampa game.
Every other Canadian provider showed the Flames game in HD on their Centre Ice schedule, except for Bell, so the situation is that if I can't get the Flames games in HD, I'll look for another provider but in the meantime I'll get my pound of flesh plus a $20 rebate when I phone Bell and complain. If they did this with the Leafs, or Canadiens, Bell wouldn't hear the end of this but since it's the Flames, as usual the East don't care.
If say I was an Islanders fan living in Canada, I would expect second class treatment as their TV audience is only at 61,500 per game and sits at 20th in the league, whereas the Flames audience is 221,300 per game and is 4th in the league.

TheSphinx 2012-02-05, 03:29 PM Could anyone tell me what channel the rangers philly game was on today. Center ice angers me sometimes, if the games go long its a guessing game as to which channel its on, why dont they add extra time in the guide for insurance? Nothing else is airing on them.
Its frustrating.
And i cannot find the game.
dgour98 2012-02-07, 12:34 PM a little late, but the game was on only in the 400 channels, (426-427 or 428)
and not in HD. I noticed this too because the guide was all messed up sunday afternoon. It wasn't posting a couple games untill it actually started.
The Boston-Washington game started at 12:30 and wasn't even listed on my guide. I had to go thru each channel before finding the game. It did come up after.
