Bark64 2012-03-12, 06:52 AM London has also been sd for about 4 days now. I know because my son watches tvo kids quite a bit. Once again the kitchener to London stretch is the culprit. Anyone know the technical reason the kitchener-London section seems so problematic?
Jase88 2012-03-13, 01:56 PM Sorry but we’re doing maintenance and it will be in SD for the next few days. We can update you once we have more information.

Steve Smart 2012-03-13, 02:19 PM Anyone else notice that TVO's PSIP data is an hour off since the Daylight Savings switchover?
This can be seen on the programming grid for both the CM7000PAL and the CM7400, as well as on a Sony Bravia (current program only).
Jase88 2012-03-13, 02:48 PM ^^^
I checked both Toronto and Paris, and both are showing the same programming guide info on my Bravia and CM7000-Pal. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with children's programming, and thus cannot identify if the guide matches the programming or not. ;)
orbot 2012-03-13, 02:52 PM Tvo-toronto guide data was off for me last night as well.
OTANUT 2012-03-13, 02:54 PM TVO Windsor is back to HD! :D
jihenry 2012-03-13, 07:08 PM The guide is not right at the moment as it says that Wild Kratts is on but it is "the Future of Food" that is on, but not sure if this has anything to do with the time change on Sunday. The Agenda is correctly showing as starting at 8:00 PM, might just be that some updates needed to be made to the PSIP program info.
OTANUT 2012-03-13, 07:56 PM Windsor is back to SD tonight....
Ken H 2012-03-13, 10:56 PM Since they use an OTA daisy chain, once things go bad anywhere West from Toronto, the rest of the stations further toward Windsor lose HD.

And yes, they do have plans to go to a more advanced HD distribution system, but as usual it's all about the money.
jihenry 2012-03-14, 11:19 AM Getting no picture or sound either one on TVO here in Ottawa area, My Samsung TV has a nice strong signal but is displaying error message that "mode is not supported" I assume someone is working on PSIP issues and has messed something up.
Update: I ran TSReader and there is no PSIP data at all being received here so who knows what they might be doing. I have sent an email to TVO about it to report the problem.
gzero 2012-03-14, 12:46 PM Noticed the same thing this morning at home. Not seeing it at the office today either, nice to see I'm not the only one :)
roger1818 2012-03-14, 01:03 PM Me to. I noticed a bunch of recordings failed this morning and I couldn't lock a picture before I left for work.
Ken H 2012-03-16, 09:45 PM Today I spoke with one of the TVO engineers that is working on the HD problem.
They have a theory on what the problem is, and are working with vendors to develop a solution as we speak. It will probably take another two or three weeks to implement the solution. If they find the theory was wrong after trying the fix, it will naturally take more time to try another solution. Until then, SD is it.
Also, the HD issue affects PSIP, which is on the same track to be fixed.
They appreciate our patience.
Jase88 2012-03-16, 11:09 PM TVO 18.1, London, right? I'm receiving this station with good signal, but there's no video/audio.
28.1 Paris is fine.
Ken H 2012-03-16, 11:23 PM TVO 18.1, London, right? I'm referring to the entire OTA chain West of Toronto, although I think the problem starts around Chatham. In this respect all I know for sure is that Windsor is affected.
28.1 Paris is fine. When you say fine, you mean PSIP? HD? Both are fine?
Jase88 2012-03-17, 01:24 AM Ken, I was providing an unusual reception report and not specifically commenting on your experiences with TVO. Sorry for the confusion!
I did a scan tonight while pointing at London, and picked up 18.1 TVO--which I presume is London, and wasn't receiving audio/video.
Ken H 2012-03-17, 01:40 PM Jass88,
No problem, thx.
As far as London TVO, can you try another DTV tuner? The one your using may need PSIP to get the picture and sound. Or alternatively, can you disable PSIP in the menu?
Emerald_Boar 2012-03-19, 01:57 PM tvO London (18.1) is currently just broadcasting signal strength. No Picture or Audio.
Yes, we have 2 HD tvs (toshiba & Panasonic) and still nothing.
Hopefully tvO comes back with a subchannel,
Al
downbeat 2012-03-21, 01:16 AM While the topic of potential sub-channels for TVO is very interesting, we've gone over this matter before. And besides, this is not the right place for it.
Let's stick to current operation status of the TVO network, please.
Several posts have been removed.
Thanks for your understanding and your co-operation.
micah 2012-04-16, 12:15 PM IDK if any of you have noticed, but TVO is pretty much 480i full time in London, Chatham and Windsor. I got in touch with someone at TVO and the problem is caused by co-channel interference.
If you don't know, London repeats channel 28 out of Paris on RF18. RF18 is picked up in Chatham and rebroadcast. Windsor rebroadcasts the Chatham feed.
Anyway, in London a US station on 28 is interfering with reception in the London link of the relay so they are staying with the 480i satellite feed for the time being. No ETA afaik.
