I must have some issue with my LG 42LE5300, it doesn't show EPG data for CBLT. My older LG 32LH20 does.
I'm having the same issue with TVO as well. I guess I'm going to call LG and see what they have to say.
:p
Wish me luck....

You'll need more than luck, unless it's still under warranty. Othewise, you're on your own.
The mystery of PSIP continues.
majortom 2012-01-25, 07:49 PM not that much of a mystery. questionable s/w implementation.
confirmed not working here:
Zenith DTT-901 CECB
(CECBs are probably one of the more scrutinised devices by the FCC way back)
LG 42LH40
orbot 2012-02-01, 06:52 PM Not getting program data anymore on CBLT.
Jase88 2012-02-01, 07:44 PM Concurred: No data for me either on all tuners. Hopefully just a blip in the road, and not a semi-permanent or long term issue.
Jase88 2012-02-02, 05:31 PM I see today that EPG data has been restored. Good news.
Ken H 2012-02-03, 02:39 PM not that much of a mystery. questionable s/w implementation.
I meant the fact so many broadcasters seem to have PSIP issues. The Detroit stations have had various issues since they went on the air.
jihenry 2012-02-21, 06:10 PM Has there been any change with CBC PSIP EPG in the Toronto area lately?
There is still no PSIP EPG here in Ottawa on CBOT or CBOFT, (nothing shows up in TSReader EPG grid). Just wondering if CBC is making any progress in fixing the problems that many in Toronto appear to have been having with getting EPG to work with their TV's. I assume they won't implement this in other areas until they get the problems in Toronto fixed.
majortom 2012-02-21, 09:17 PM Same story here, CBLT guide only works on 1 of 3 of my Digital TV tuners.
Can't really count the PC.
Same status as it was prior to the Analog Shut down.
Personally, I'm not expecting it to get fixed anytime soon if they couldn't fix it before.
But that's just my opinion, let's hope I'm wrong:)
roger1818 2012-02-22, 07:47 AM majortom, if it works on 1 of your 3 tuners it isn't the same story since that proves CBLT is transmitting PSIP data. If TSReader shows the EIT data to be blank on CBOT, there is no data.
majortom 2012-02-22, 07:09 PM Noone said they weren't. Let me clarify what I meant. He was wondering if they have made any progress fixing the problematic EPG issue in Toronto. The same old story refers to the fact that before the transition not all TV receivers could receive it, and now post transition some receivers still can't see it. Here in my case it's the same only 1 of 3 receivers can see program data before & after, so to me, the end user, they haven't really fixed it. In summary, there was a problem before and there's still a problem after.
RustyHD 2012-02-22, 07:39 PM I had spotty problems with CBLT and CBLFT before the transition especially with TVIX PVR. Depending on the firmware, it would either work with 7 day guide or show as full signal with no channel lock. I use the older firmware that works with everything. Also had a problem with TCT Jamestown. For a while, you select the channel and it would freeze and lock up. That one works perfectly fine now. When the CBLT guide came back, I recently upgraded to the latest firmware, and the same issue, full signal with no channel lock. The TVIX is quirky so is probably more touchy to things done different than what they see is correct. Rest of the tuners on TV's can handle what they are doing and have no issues. It would be nice if this was resolved, as the newer TVIX firmware fixes some other issues.
El Gran Chico 2012-03-07, 06:30 PM I see today that EPG data has been restored. Good news.
I've been watching CBLT's PSIP EPG for the past few weeks. It seems to come and go often. It was off Sunday, on Monday, off today. Never seen it on CBLFT since last summer.
The good news (if there is any) is that it is on often enough to keep loading the guide on our DTVpal DVR. The EPG problems are for the most part invisible to it.
Jase88 2012-03-07, 06:58 PM Agreed, El Gran Chico. I see the same issues with CBLT here with my Sony Bravia's tuner. And yes, the CM7000Pal seems to retain enough data to avoid the data transmission gaps.
majortom 2012-03-07, 07:25 PM I was gonna ask if anyone noticed any issues with CBLFT last weekend, it was pixelating with a solid 20 sumthing dB SNR, so there weren't any reception issues on the radio side. Looked to me like it was pixelated at the source. Looked to be restored when I checked it again on Monday evening. I don't speak french so it didn't bother me that much, but was curious.
Jase88 2012-03-07, 07:36 PM Unfortunately I don't tune to CBLFT very often. But when I have recently, it's appeared to be fine.
Brightonian 2012-03-07, 09:57 PM Yep I noticed it.
orbot 2012-03-08, 01:45 AM I noticed it as well.
interdit_450 2012-03-12, 12:24 PM Read this over the weekend *sigh* ... wishful thinking

If only CBC could have done more of a DTV transition like PBS than the single 720p low power stuff we have now... imagine all the cultural and children's programming we could have?
roger1818 2012-03-12, 01:53 PM ^^^An interesting read, but it has errors and contradictions.
First of the decision to switch to 720p had nothing to do with Cable and satellite companies, like the author suggests, but a switch from fiber-optic to satellite distribution (as discussed thoroughly in this forum).
Secondly, the author is complaining about the reduction in PQ resulting from the change in one breath, and then arguing for further reduction in PQ by adding a bunch of sub channels. This might work for PBS where the bulk of their programming is documentaries with minimal motion, but with sports (especially hockey), where there is lots of motion, you need as much bandwidth as you can get.
