I noticed CBC Regina has been HD in the evenings the last few days - will this include HNIC tomorrow?

Yes, it will be HD tomorrow.

Starting Monday, all stations move to the new system which supports HD full time.:)

Marc,
Will this "new system" include EPG?

Marc

No. I'm told EPG should be online Nov 28th.

After getting this 'new system' to have HD for all markets and EPG working on the 28th, will there be any remaining bugs?

Hard to know for sure until after the fact. But, they must have a high level of confidence to roll it out.

Of course there will be bugs. The 11 year old system it is replacing still has bugs, as did the 20 year old system it replaced.

Is it just me, or has there been an improvement to the HD picture quality on CBC over the last day?

When Windsor is in HD during the day, I have also thought the HD quality looked MUCH sharper!!! Look forward to seeing what prime time shows look like in HD starting tomorrow down here!!! (if plans don't change)

I watched the news this afternoon and it looked the same as before, to me.

Was watching CBLT this morning which had children's programming; CHEX was also coming in, but different programming- CBC News. If CBC can show different programming at the same time, why not do it simultaneously through a sub?

goforit, CHEX is not owned by CBC, but is a CBC affiliate owned by Corus Entertainment. They show a lot of CBC programming but also show a lot of their own programming. All of their non CBC programming is sourced locally. Apparently all of the programming for the CBC owned stations nationwide is routed through Toronto.

It looks like the CBC has got it's automation software problems resolved, CBET-DT in Windsor is passing HD in prime time.

I heard a few very brief audio issues during the 6pm news, little pops or snaps. So far Coronation Street seems fine.

FYI

For those not getting Guide data on CBC Toronto...

Note that this also applies to TVO, Toronto.

Here, no guide data on CBC Toronto, and zilch (no data at all) on TVO with CM7000 DTA converter box, but stations viewable.

With Toshiba 19" panel (TV), both stations have guide and station data.

Can't speak for our 47" LG panel yet, as it's not part of the antenna stream yet. :-) But that's coming...

So... If you aren't seeing any EPG or guide info, check with others receiving the same station and compare results and equipment.

Global & CTV are OK... with minor differences... on the CM box...

CamDAB, the PSIP EPG data is fine for TVO Toronto. I can see it on several different tuners. However, there is definitely an absence of data for both SRC and CBC--which has been confirmed by CBC insider Marc in this thread. Therefore, no need to compare with others, as this is a known issue.

I have never seen any guide data on Global. Did something just change?

Jase88,

I was highlighting the receiver issue as if someone had only the CM D2A box, they'd ASSuME that the stations were at fault, which obviously is not the case with TVO and CBC have almost got it licked.

Both are fine on the Toshiba 19" panel.
