If you missed this the first time, here is a 2nd chance to catch this great episode.
The Nature of Things
CBC, 8 p.m.
August 25
"Are you overwhelmed by raccoons? First shown last season, this episode of the venerable CBC science series was filmed primarily in Toronto, which apparently has the dubious distinction of being the “raccoon capital of the world.” The program affords a rare glimpse into the post-midnight prowlings of city raccoons and features the involvement of two York University researchers. Much of the fascinating footage was filmed at night, obviously, when the furry creatures are on a constant search for food. And for all the efforts of humans, including latched garbage cans, the raccoons survive on their wits and by remembering how to get around the preventive measures. Raccoons have very good memories, apparently."
