I can no longer get recorded tv shows (new or old) to play on my DCX 3400m PVR. The screen says "To Be Announced". I just bought this about a month ago and have not had any problems until a few days ago.
I have unplugged it and plugged it back in twice and still nothing.
Any suggestions.....or known fixes?
Thanks.

Call Shaw and see if they can rehit it from their end.

I will try calling them. It's funny I tried to watch some recorded shows about 1/2 ago and it seemed to work. Then when I tried to replay it after stopping it nothing worked. Very frustrating! Keep getting "To Be Announced" on the screen.

"To Be Announced" is usually an indication of siggnal issues. Is the equipment straight from the wall to the DCT? Try bypassing any splitters.

"To Be Announced" could be due to signal issues but most likely not. If it was any major signal issues he would be getting "One Moment Please This Channel Will Be Available Shortly" on every channel.
Try unplugging the power cord from the back of the DCT. If that does not work have someone from Shaw send a "Hit" to the box. If you have a modem or DPT they can check your levels.

Had a similar problem last night. Recorded "David Letterman" on the 3400 that is connected to an expander. When I went to Playback the episode it would show a black screen with "To Be Announced" in the scan bar, and wasn't able to ffwd or rewind, play, any part of the clip. Played back a previous night's episode, and it played normally (One that was recorded before the 0823-2011 code update). Anybody else having problems recording/playback since the code update? I'll do another unplug and see if it fixes itself! Recorded on the back-up 3416 unit, so I didn't miss the episode at least. No splitters. The boxes are in different rooms. Going to try to unplug the expander from power supply, and the e-sata wire from the STb, and see if that works. Once I get home.
