Finally got Global up and running using dedicated lo-VHF antenna and for a few days the channel worked in WMC7.

UNTIL TODAY

Double check on both my PC's and both systems are unable to pick up the Global signal on 6.1 for Ottawa :(

I noticed this evening all PSIP is gone as little as there was it is blank. It may be related.

Is there a schedule for when Global Montreal in Sherbrooke on 11.1 will be getting PSIP data? As it stands, it is the only one of my stations without a guide (or callsign..but there is accurate time), which kind of deters me from watching it - usually I end up switching to the American networks.

Still, it's much better to have it in HD than analog...and it's also the only English Canadian station I receive at my cottage, so I have to thank the people at Shaw for actually converting to digital, unlike the CBC.

Are all Global stations showing "DTV Program" in their PSIP program guide info? Do any channels show the actual program name?

All my guide info is blank 22.1 CHAN HD

i can confirm sherbooke i still having the problem as of today the transport stream id is different in the PAT and TVCT is this because the transmitter is really CKMI-DT2?

Yep, the TSIDs are mismatched. The 17557 one in the PAT is wrong and should be 17617 to match the TVCT.

so any new news on the sherbrooke transmitter? who should i send an email to alert them of a potential issue?

I get Sherbrooke CKMI on my TV (11.1) but not on my WMC. I hope they make it work soon so that I can record my shows.. Is there a work-around at our end in the meantime?

I have the same mismatch (verified with TSReader). Someone will need to contact Global..

During a recent trip I scanned Quebec City, Fredericton, and Charlottetown. All were mismatched and the Quebec City channel wouldn't scan on my Windows 7 laptop nor the Sony TV where I was staying. I was able to watch Quebec city after manually adding it to the Sony TV. I haven't tried watching Charlottetown or Fredericton on Windows 7.

If I remember right, the MGT for CKMI-2 specified a lot of ETTs/EITs, but none were being sent out. I would take this to mean that the guide data system is partially set up - which makes me hopeful for guide data.

Note that before I left Sunday afternoon (02/10/11) Global's breakups at my cottage were much less severe than usual. To be fair, though, I noticed the transmitter was surrounded in a huge rain cloud, so that may have had something to do with it. Personally, I'm hoping that something was done with the PSIP that helped my TV hold the lock better than it usually does.

It was probably the weather, though.

Seems like they are looking at this although , the TSID in the PAT and TVCT aren't the same yet (06Oct11@19h30 ish) there is an additonal program. that wasn't there yesterday

flysgs233, I'm not sure the two are related. The SD feed has always been in the transport stream, it was just not included in the PMT or TVCT so tuners wouldn't find it. If you look at the PID usage chart on any Global station whose data is posted on RabbitEars, you'll see that PIDs 0x0041, 0x0044, and 0x0045 are present but noted as "Unknown Usage" due to lack of PMT entry. Thanks to Global, CKMI Sherbrooke (Orford) is now confirgured OK for WMC7. :D

I haven't had a chance to do another tsreader scan, or look for the .2 subchannel, but on Sunday afternoon, Global Charlottetown was again coming in on my WMC7 machine (like it did during the end of August). Thanks navwizard!
