Indeed, that was last week's episode where Lorie spilled the beans and that's how it ended.

I didn't find the S01E07 ending that predictable at all. Not what I was expecting and was a little stunned / emotional during the last 2 minutes. Then again, I'm also reading the comics and the story line is a bit different from how the TV series went, so that could have added to the element of surprise for me in terms of what i was expecting.

I predicted to my wife last week that it would end up this way.

However, I am just surprised at how relatively untouched she was. She wasn't eaten at all from what I saw. I'd expect the walkers to ear her up.

Even though I have found this season a bit slow, I still find the shows quite rivetting and I thought the last 2 shows were particularly intense. Having never read the comics and being someone who never thought I would ever watch this type of show I found the ending a shock.

I enjoyed it. I never found it got too slow. The show is more about a band of people trying to survive a holocaust then it is an out-and-out zombie show. Although I saw the ending coming (with five minutes left in the show, I knew the girl had to show up somewhere), it still startled me. The ending was great.

However, I thought it was Herchel's wife, not Sophia. And don't you think the group would have said that they recently apprehended a young girl? Hmmm.

Unless Otis got her and never had the opportunity to tell anyone or never connected the dots. He was killed fairly early.

I think this should end any trust between the group and Herchel.

If he had captured the child and left the group and the child's mother searching and hoping - that is a betrayal that would be difficult to forgive.

They kind of answered that question on the "Talking Dead" afterwards. Apparently it was Otis' job to relocate any stuck zombies (Hershel references this on the way to the mudhole). And with Otis being conveniently killed off there was likely no one else to connect these dots.

Besides you can argue that even if Herschel knew the girl was in the shed, he wouldn't tell the group because A)he'd be killing their hopes and B) They would kill her.

This show has gotten so bad, I can't watch it anymore. Cheesy, soap opera dialogue and over-acting. Add to that it is just plain dull.

I'm glad I read this thread, because Darabont leaving explains the descent in quality. I somewhat enjoyed the first season.

Its called character building, you cant have zombie wars all the time.
The acting is oscar worthy I will give you that, but now you know more background of all the people.
When your budget is slashed and you have to write twice as many episodes CGI, makeup and extras get thinned out.

All shows have slower episodes, even the best like breaking bad and dexter.

I also thing that the slow pacing and character development was important to the climax of the series. The ending wouldn't have been quite as powerful if it happened in episode 3.

Bump. Just a reminder that Walking Dead Season 2b commences this Sunday on AMC.

I know this show perhaps hasn't been as good as last year, but still very much looking forward to seeing where this will go next. I'm hoping they will now move the plot along beyond Hershel's farmhouse and kinda of felt like the plot was jailed-in a bit for season 2a.

The newspaper today had a good article on the upcoming second part of the season, pretty much saying that the show won't follow the comics as closely, and that they want to establish it as 2 separate universes with some of the same elements.

Also, they mentioned the season finale would be March 18th.
