i upgraded 2 209s to 2 600s and they both came with new remotes. Seems odd that yours didn't.
I just KNOW that when I ship the 209 back without it's remote, they are going to try and charge me for it....lol....

^^^I've been told by 2 separate CSRs that I only have to send back the rcvrs. They specifically said that i don't have to return the cables or remotes.

I have never in many years ever returned a remote. I was always told just the receiver, no A/V cables, no power cables, no remote.

You're fine

Call back and ask to speak to customer relations, they may be able to help you out.

I got 3x 505s upgraded to 600s for $29.99 each. At first they offered 2x at $49.99/each. It took about a 10-15 minute conversation for them to get it down to $29.99 for the 3 receivers.

Did that require speaking to customer relations, or was a regular CSR able to do that?

I had to speak to customer relations.

Only offered me an upgrade on two of my five receivers and I have been a 15 year customer. Said that likely when the time comes a similar promotion would run so that I could upgrade all of them. At first he offered to upgrade all five and then came back on the line and said that he could only upgrade two at this time.

So i just got my bill for last month and confirmed the price of the upgraded receivers. I had 2 209s and 2 505s. If they wouldnt have let me upgrade to a PVR then I wouldnt have done it, so i pushed for that. I went to 2 600s and 2 630s. Total including installation and multiswitch came to $250. I spoke to 3 people to get this deal. First 2 said they couldn't do anything to go from a non-pvr to a pvr. I was willing to spend 200-250 so I am content with this. Yes i did have to sign up to NHL CI to get this (and had it last year) but i would have signed up for that anyways. The installation team were at my house for probably close to an hour an they actually replaced existing lines and connectors and did an excellent job. I was nice to the SD reps when speaking to them. And its nice that unlike otehr companies, they get the billing correct on the first shot. All 4 receivers arrived in 2 business days and the installation team was there on the third business day. Oh and 8 free movies as well.

As a subscriber to the NHL Centre Ice package, I was able to negotiate 630 upgrades to my two existing 530 PVRs. After a polite and patient discussion with Customer Relations, in Montreal, I ended up paying $49.95 to replace the first 530 and $0 for the second 530.

I am sure that being a long time SD subscriber and my frequent mention of the Telus Optik offerings, did not hurt my negotiating position. It was necessary to get redirected to Customer Relations from the front-end CSR.

I was able to trade all my 3 receivers (305, 530 and 505) for a 600, 630 and 605 for 49,99 $ each. Before speaking with the Guest relations, the first CRS wanted me to pay 99,95 $ for the 600. I said no and asked to be transfered.

Now, I will see what comes home from Purolator. So far, sor good, SD ! :D
