If you are in BC, go to Mr. Mike's, fabulous burgers. It does not have drive through, but the restaurants are very nice and very clean.

In Meas AZ the In-A-Out is OK but not great. The Heart Attack Grill is fantastic and the waitresses aren't bad either. Carl's makes the best malted milkshakes I've had.

When in southern california I always try to hit an In and Out. I also have a 5 burger guy close to my house here in the frozen tundra (lol) and find it very close to InO. I will say that also in socal I had one Carls jr that was pretty good for an american conglomerate. THEEE best burger of all time was a local edmonton chain called burger king they had a " king mushroom cheese burger" that has never been equaled. unfortunatly they closed down in the 80s

Five Guys is good, but when I go to Denver on business I always go to Smashburger. The best burgers though are at Hamburger Mary's.

Locally (GTA), Licks and South Street Burger are really good.

So I just found out there is a Carl's Jr. in Kelowna BC. This, after finding out there are other stores in the Pacific NorthWest, I didn't know about till today.

Not exactly In n Out, but not bad either. Is the menu the same in BC as in WA?

When I was in Vegas, I went to Fatburger a couple of times (once inside the Red Rock Casino, once on the strip across from Monte Carlo). The burgers were awesome.:D

I too have had the In-n-Out experience. I go to Vegas at least 3 times a year and we always go at least once or twice. The one on Tropicana is usually jammed solid, so we started going to the one on Maryland Pkwy.

I haven't tried In-N-Out yet but according to some posts in lengthy threads on chowhound, in the GTA area the closest thing is Burger's Priest located in the Beaches. They have a secret menu too and an Animal-style equivalent with Jarge-style. We went in the summer, got there early ahead of opening and was second in line. Good thing too as the line grew. The place is very small with seating for 2-3 people but I wouldn't be bothered with that as it feels very claustrophobic, do take out instead. I did Jarge-style, very tasty, best fast food burger I've had. The fries weren't that great, not crispy at all. There's been some rumblings about a second location. Hopefully it'll be closer to downtown. I'd visit more often but don't like the trek out to the beaches.

I just learned that Five Guys Burger is opening about 5 km away from my place in Edmonton. There's part of me that wishes it was In-N-Out, but Five Guys is really good (albeit pricier).

Humbar, good call. I do the same when in Vegas. I find Maryland isn't quite as dumpy an area but as soon as you're off the strip, you never know until you drive 7-8 miles out...

^The Fat Guys burgers are just as good as the US but for some reason they haven't figured out the fries, the fries in the Cdn ones are terrible
