ANALYSIS: Bell's all-digital cable application attracts attention

IT SEEMS PRETTY LIKELY Bell Canada will receive the cable distribution licenses it has asked for, covering every major centre from Windsor to Toronto to Montreal to Quebec City.

I can't really think of any reason why it would be denied. But then commercial success once launched is a whole other issue. I just don't see a point to the service. What 'hole' are they trying to fill?

I guess they are trying to capture the folks who can't get satellte. Folks in apartments and condos and people with big trees.

Since the CRTC nods its head for whatever Bell wants, yup it will be approved.

I agree. The analysis really outlines our current state well. It is interesting to watch the never-ending battle between cable and telco's as they vie for the CRTC's favour.
