I don't know. All that hot air about Oda should make things warmer there! Toronto's high is expected to be 9 so I'm surprised that Ottawa is expected to get so warm.

I hope it's Celsius since the 35 Celsius temperature difference between southern Ontario and Annapolis Valley last December didn't work out to well for some of us Blue Nosers. We were much warmer -- nice -- but the severe difference in temperature came with a bit of a wind around here and snapped a 2 foot diameter pine that landed on my roof.

I just got my backyard rink back into shape after the last melt this past weekend, and here it comes again :(.

I don't mind the warmer weather, if it is only for a day at a time and drops below freezing for the night.

It is going to be 48 hours at least with a low of -2 and a high of 12. I doubt the rinks will last. And there is this ...

The National Capital Commission (NCC) wishes to advise the public that the Rideau Canal Skateway will be temporarily closed as of tomorrow, Thursday, February 17, at 6 am because of the weather and its negative impact on the ice. The Rideau Canal Skateway will remain closed until further notice.

Hum, would sure make me a happy camper if the forecast actually happens:cool: Can't say it has been a hard winter so far (cold or snow) but this would be a treat and gives hope for a nearby end of winter/start of spring :cool: again!

From your pics, your rink looks pretty good.... I'm surprised u're having problems. It was warm on Monday for a bit, but I skated Monday night, and Tuesday night this week.... I did a quick homeboni, and leaf hunt before dinner, and skated after dinner both nights)

Did you get a lot of rain?

I'll be interested to see what my slab will look like Friday when I get home from work....
