No there isn't. The Tennis Channel doesn't even have coverage. I don't think that there is any TV coverage in any country until Saturday.

Raonic lost today 6-7 5-7 in what appears to have been a close match from the statistics. I hope this is due to some lagging injury effects from Indian Wells and not a trend.
At least I won't be scrambling on Sportsnet as much to find out when he'll be shown next.

Nadal will play Federer in a semi-final Friday April 1 at 7 pm and it's on Sportsnet.

I think I'll be watching that instead of the Jays season opener :)

The semi-final between Djokovic and Fish is delayed due to rain. It was supposed to start at 1pm ET with Roger v Rafa at 7pm tonight. Assuming the rain stops this afternoon RS One will likely show it instead of the scheduled programming - PTS with Bob McCown. I say that with confidence because all week they've been putting tennis matches on instead of PTS even when virtually unknown players are competing. (BTW thumbs up to RS One for doing so).

If both semi-finals have to played tonight I don't know if they'll be played at the same time or one after the other. Despite some overlap most of the crowd will have tickets for just one of the semis so presumably each match would have to played at the main stadium so I don't think they will play concurrently. That would mean two matches on RS One tonight (everything else they've scheduled is filler) with Roger-Rafa possibly moved to after the Djokovic match.

Wow, did I ever get that last post wrong!

I've had RS One on for the last few hours waiting for the match to resume as the official tournament website has been saying that the rain had stopped and the court was being dried. RS One however was showing a magazine programme then PTS. It now turns out the tennis match had indeed been resumed but had switched to Rogers SN West! So despite checking the RSN schedule and having the channel on for hours I ended up missing the match! I can't imagine how confusing this stuff must be to the casual viewer who just flips through the channels. I take back my complement to Rogers in the last post.

Sportsnet was in no way going to preempt PTS today. They are doing a 3 hour live special from the Rogers Centre due to opening day that had been promoted all week. The program on before PTS was an MLB Network produced season preview on the Jays. This is the Rogers empire at work with their synergy.

At least they moved it to Sportsnet West instead of not showing it anywhere. With that said, they should have had a scroll on Sportsnet One saying so.

Jays programming will never be preempted on Sportsnet unless a live sporting event on before it runs long and even then, that event may get moved in progress.

I was so annoyed I misspelled 'compliment'.

With that said, they should have had a scroll on Sportsnet One saying so.

You'd think a multi billion dollar company would have the resources to put up a scroll or make an announcement over the air.

Sportsnet advertises this site on their commercials. If you haven't seen it yet it's worth a look.
http://www.lovemeansnothing.ca/

If you watch the Raonic in Toronto video, at the end of the video, the bottom of the Youtube screen shows links to 15 other videos on Raonic including hilites from many of his past tennis matches.
The 2010 Rogers Cup Toronto 1st round 3rd set doubles tiebreaker with Pospisil against Nadal/Djokovic is definitely worth a look.

We are living in a golden age of the sport. The level of tennis played yesterday between Djokovic and Nadal is as high in quality and entertainment value as anything I've ever seen in world sport. The sight of Nadal collapsed in his chair after losing should refute those who claim the majors are the only tournaments that matter to the players.

In past years the availability of this tournament, Sony Ericsson (it use to be called the Lipton back in the 90s), to Canadian viewers has varied with US networks occasionally showing it but this year with ESPN2 providing coverage we probably would've missed it if not for RS One stepping up. As disorganised as Rogers can be - see my post 011-04-01 @ 03:36 PM - it's good to know that we will now be getting these non-Grand Slam tournaments on a regular basis.

CBS had coverage of the women's and men's finals of the Sony Ericsson this year. ABC had Indian Wells and I think CBS will have Cincinnati. Of course CBC has the Rogers Cup finals. So, the finals of all of major non-Grand Slam events in North America are available to everyone with basic cable this year.

CBS had coverage of the women's and men's finals of the Sony Ericsson this year.

I wasn't aware of that. I assumed when ESPN2 took over from the Tennis Channel (semis or perhaps the quarters) they'd have the rest of the tournament. So it ended up split between three different networks in the US.

ABC had Indian Wells

ABC showed part of the semi-final (Fed v Djokovic) and the final (Nadal v Djokovic) but both ended on ESPN. A lot of people on the east coast got local news and even infomercials as coverage switched to ESPN around 6pm ET.

Stations in the mountain and pacific time zones stayed with tennis until conclusion both days. The whole thing was supposed to air on ABC, but since it is only an overflow channel I guess they decided it was more important to switch coverage over to ESPN.

Raonic plays today. Sportsnet just posted that they will show the match live approximately 10 am EDT.

I wish to thank Sportsnet for showing the match live instead of their planned tape delay. It's easy to complain about some things they do, but this time they deserve a compliment.

Raonic plays Stepanek Tues Apr 19 in Barcelona. The matches start at 4:30 am EDT and his is the 4th match of the day so who knows when that will be.
There does not appear to be any tv coverage.

Raonic has also moved up to 28th ATP ranking.

Raonic now plays Greul Wed Apr 20 and it will be the 5th match of the day so the start time will be impossible to predict at this point.
Again no tv coverage.

Raonic now plays Dodig Thurs Apr 21. However it is the 5th scheduled match of the day which means it will probably start no earlier than 1:30 pm EDT or so, and it could start much later.
Sportsnet schedule shows tennis coverage ending at 1:30 pm, so I hope they will show the match live in its entirety whenever it starts.
