I totally agree about 3D. Could be a lot of bugs to iron out yet. If anyone gets 3D get the extra warranty for sure.

I still don't understand what the big hype on 3D is about, I was shown the Avatar 3D at the store, all I saw was artificial scenes where the depth "perception" is stepped rather than continuous.

Not my cup of tea, probably never will.

Which means I won't even bother "future proof" by getting a 3D TV, I ended up buying a 3D Blue-Ray player only because the price was unbeatable even if it was only 2D, so I can future proof by selling it later on to someone else who does buy into the hype of "3D"........

Cablerules, you have to understand that edgle lit LED's are no better than a LCD and in some cases worse because it's always better to get light coming from the back of the TV equally ( Like the cheaper CCFL LCD, or a more expensive Full Array, local dimming Backlit LED). Edge lit only offers the slim benefit and some power saving but almost all new technologies today like Plasma or LCD/LED offer decent power saving ( especially over the older tubes). Also the edgle lit LED's give the most ridiculous marketing BS, such as contrasts in the millions which is laughable. It Also seems through your posts that you love the TV's on full blown Vivid torch mode, if so a Full Matrix LED or LCD is fine for you then.

As for 3dtv I was thinking of choosing between a G25 panny plasma or the 3D VT25 panny plasma and decided to get the G25 and save 600 bucks due to no content ( like 3 3d movies). Now I am kind of mad as 6 months later there are so many 3d movies out on amazon that look very interesting like pirannha 3d is suppose to be very trippy in 3d and the VT25 was voted best 3d and HDTV of 2010. Oh well I will wait until they come with those better glasses and have better effects. Always the plasma will offer a deal and the picture.

CableRules:

I wouldn't say that the G25 will magically transform itself into the best plasma picture. But when I got it home and hooked it up, it was like I bought a different TV than what I saw in the store. That's just a personal experience and it might be different for others.

Anyway, its a moot point since you've already made your buying decision. Hope you enjoy your new TV.

Check out what Cable rules said about the G25 " G25? That UGLY thing! The worst looking TV by far ". He bases all his info on what he saw in the store, whats funny to me is that the store around me had every TV on torch mode and the LED TV's looked like a joke when next to a G25. Obviously the kid doesn't realize that these salesmen make money from selling cables and the most expensive , useless TV's like LED which is LCD .Also that the G25 was hooked up to a DVD player with the worst picture settings and the LED is hooked up to a Blu ray player with the same movie cranked to Vivid mode. Notice how he always mentions what the salesman told him, when he doesn't have any research of his own. The sales men also told me monster cables are the best and I had to shut up the salesman saying my 10 dollar cable is just the same over the 200 dollar cable. I bet when this kid wastes his money on his LCD TV or if he thinks it's a LED that he will also walk out of the store with a monster HDMI cable lol. On torch mode that TV probably won't even last to long, since it appears he likes his TV cranked with everything at 100. I bet he will even call the Kuro a UGLY TV because the salesman didn't put it on torch mode lol.

Also the reason why I am a LED hater is because their is no LED. It's really a LCD with a different backlight being advertised as a LED to make 2 or 3 times as much money. A true led is a OLED and that will take years. Even a full array, local dimming LED is still just a very high quality LCD and those are very expensive and harder to find. Truth is 95% of LED's you find in a store is just a skinny LCD with marketing lies about how it has plasma contrast levels which makes me laugh as the LED's suffer from lots of that blur and the colors are not as real as plasma.

I will just say LED-LCD and plasma have their place. LED is great for brighter rooms. Plasma is best for a low light environment. Both technologies have made improvement’s this year, 2011 models will show even more improvements. LED's have improved black levels and plasmas have been made brighter and more models with anti-glare screen.

Since I strated this thread and asked for help which you guys have given, thanks, I'll explain why I went LED. Reasons: Biggest reason is the price. The store made a mistake by $300 and had to honor it for the day. Plus a free Blu-ray player. The room it's in is on the 2nd floor, with a large window 6' wide window. Plasma might look washed out during the day with blinds open. IF I can't get the LED to my liking I'll make the switch to plasma.

It's all good with whatever you pick. Just know that stores and salesmen only care about money and will BS you with all kinds of lies. I am sure the Vivid mode on the G25 would look perfect for your liking. Maybe you saw the standard mode and thought it was horrible.

For playing the same game 8 hours or more a day and for the energy savings go LED.

For playing video games 4 hours or less a day ( due to fast response times) , sports, HD viewing with Blu rays it's Plasma and the price is cheaper Usually.
