...just showed up in a scan. It appears to be duplicate programming, at the moment, of 26.1 CBUTF.

Edit: The situation has righted itself as of this fine Monday morning and I can record Coronation Street on CBC again. All is well with the world and I am out of the doghouse!


I suspect that around last Friday June 1 something about the CBC Vancouver (CBUT-DT 43) OTA signal changed.

I have two TVs with mid-2010 Mac Mini and and EyeTV 250 Plus with EyeTV software 3.5.4 and both have exactly the same problem with one OTA channel only - CBUT-DT channel 43 in Vancouver Canada. The video on that channel only has been missing/blank through the EyeTV hardware/software combo The audio is fine, and all other channels are OK. Both TVs have no problem displaying the video when connected directly to the antenna. So I guess something about the signal changed on Friday.

This is a bit of a problem since we can no longer record Coronation Street to watch after work, and I am under extreme pressure from the significant other to fix this. I guess we can watch online but then we can't skip the commercials.

Dave - Have you tried calling their engineers to see if anything changed? I called them once and they were really quick to call me back. It did take some effort to navigate the CBC website to find the right number to call (if I had it I'd offer it). Just look for the Vancouver number.

Does anyone else in Victoria find that 22 (ch8) global is not reaching here like it normally does I was getting it for months 99% solid now it is around 8-9 db???

Yes, but I attributed that to moving to my attic.

Earlier this morning I got wierd results too....
CBC I got 43.5 along with the usual 43 CBC.
100% signal on 43.5 but know picture or sound.
Also during I picked 35.1 35.2 35.3 35.5 two were Kvos one was cbc (43) and the other was just blank but all were listed with KVOS So I whipped out my 4228 and did scans on the same unit with the same and varying results then coneected the 4228 to my tv it also have wierd results then about 90 mins ago all settled down to normal scans and listings on both units with iether of the two antennas or tuners. Strange day for reception.

I also recently lost picture & sound from CBUT on 43 with normal signal strength for several days at least.

I am finding that 43 cbc , 32 ctv and 26 src are all coming in strong and clear but for the last week or so 22 global has just dropped off completely. Yet it was coming in since the transition without any significant drops.

I have also noticed a serious drop-off in signal for Global BC. Thought it was just me, glad its not.

I have emailed them but have not received a response, I just sent it to the news desk not sure how to reach the engineers.

There is currently antenna work being done on the tower at Mount Seymour. For safety reasons, all broadcasters are required to turn down their power levels to reduce the amount of electromagnetic radiation exposure to workers.

The crew is relocating some of the antennas for the FM stations, and will also be re-installing a second rotatable microwave receive antenna for us. This work is expected to take until the end of the month to complete.

Global upgrades are more than likely related to the all news station they planning for.

CityTV and Omni are both down. My system is showing plenty of signal from them but no digital lock, so it looks like their data streams have gone down.

2:17pm CityTV and Omni are both back here for me.

Went from 30ish% signal and barley a lock to 50%+ and a nice stable signal over here.
