All programs on WKBW are a little soft ,HD or not.

WNBF 15 has fired up their digital signal from Grand Island. It's exactly the same programming as WNYB.

I believe it's actually WBNF-CA.

And despite being 15kW, I'm not seeing a hint of it here in Kitchener, ON. Which isn't surprising, given its mostly East/ESE contour.

and so they have.
Forgive me almighty ____....but..
What a waste of perfectly good bandwidth:)

Just a sniff of it here in Etobicoke. Way too weak to lock.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was -CA or -CD so I just kind of left it off.

They only have a construction permit for 15kW, but do have STA for 4.6kW, so maybe that's why you're not seeing anything. I don't know what power they're at, but i"d have to assume 4.6kW.

Getting a solid lock @ 55% for me :)

Which is funny, cause I normally can't lock on the main channel and this one is far weaker. (mostly aiming of course.. my antenna is pointed straight for grand island)
If it's at the lower 4.x kW quoted, I'm impressed with my 4228. :)

Their signal pattern will only reach east of Toronto if you look at Tv Fool. They are definitely at 15KW, that 4.6KW STA was cancelled ages ago if you look at the letter to the FCC. In Whitby their signal should be consistent. Whitby shows a stronger signal than where I am in Stouffville. Toronto has a big complete null for this station.

RF 15 (WNYB / WBNF) was booming in last night and I have never seen a hint of it before.

Personally I consider this a huge drag since WNYB (RF 26) already covers this area so now there are two RF channels taken up with exactly the same programming. If you include W42CO-D which comes in occasionally that is 3 RF channels being used with the same content. How is this allowed?

I understand they are basically repeaters, but if I can get all 3 in Oshawa then there has to be redundancy happening in their target markets as well.

I hope they have plans to drop 26s power at some point.

I have noticed that in the few days, WBBZ has changed 67.2, .3, and .4 from forcing my TV to show the content streched out to cover the whole screen back to giving me the option to set the aspect ratio myself. Now I have the ability to view ThisTV and MeTV in 4:3 rather than having to watch it in 16:9 stretched out.

I appreciate this change.

Also, for those that can't watch WBBZ, the main WBBZ 67.1 has now started showing some additional content that is not just a copy of MeTV. There is a morning information/news program called The Daily Buzz that is in the vain of Good Day LA or Talk Soup. Pretty fun show. Syndicated morning program.

3 days so far and WBNF is still consistent, 2 bars and no dropouts yet. I think it's now safe to say that this is a permanently receivable station.

Yes WBNF obviously has changed something (I guess since CKXT went off the air). Seems like their power is much higher.

I now (unfortunately) get both rf 15 and 26 at high signal level.

What a waste of air space.

WKBW is now showing local HD commercial content.

Hopefully their syndication programming will show up in HD soon.

My local OTA stations are playing a game called "how much RF can we shove on Grand Island before it all goes to hell", I see.

WKBW has had all their local syndicated content in HD for weeks now, some commercials too.

Has WBBZ repaired its' aerial/transmitter yet from the damage that it incurred in the early October storm? I am pleasantly surprised to have reception of WBBZ (67.x) for the first time since September this evening and was wondering if anything has changed.

wire...are you still getting WBBZ? I live not too far from you at Mavis and Wolfdale above Huron Park, but am only able to pick WBBZ up during tropo events. If you're still getting it, I'll try and see if I can pick it up too. I am using a CS2 for UHF & CS5 for VHF (using both indoors).

I have concluded that the reception that I had of WBBZ on Nov 15 must have been Tropo. Since then, no lock on WBBZ . Humbar reported in post #457 That WBBZ has been on reduced power at 10 kW since Oct 1. Is there any update as to when they will return back to full Power (26kW)?

Just a reminder that local reception results should be discussed in the appropriate local reception thread for your given area. Likewise, tropo and unusual reception results should also be discussed in the appropriate thread.

Is there any news if we will be getting any new sub channels on WGRZ as of January 1st?
