I've been receiving WNGS Springville (Ch 7) every night for the past week. Steady and consistently. Also ION & WNYO too. Last night I watched "The Omen" on ION.

Wasn't watching last night, but today WNYO was strong most of the day. Good to see you're getting ION (RF 23) with the 91XG...

Yes, I'm back to the 91XG after some testing with an Antennacraft MXU59.

In the past couple of weeks, the reception of the major Buffalo network has been very poor.

Missed the action of the Preakness Stake (stuttered on the home stretch LOL) and various weekend sports coverage. Signal strength has been worse than before and the outage is prolonged as well.

I wonder if others having similar results. I just want to check before going up on the roof or buying a different antenna.

I have noticed poorer than usual performance on the buf's, but I had fiddled with the antenna a couple weeks back and thought I had messed it up :p

Maybe not, if a couple more confirm similar status..

it's been pretty wet. Might be worth checking for waterlogged cables, or other hardware. I know I had to drain & dry out my homemade HPF a couple weeks ago, and have seen a few others here reporting water in their balun boxes, etc. too.

Speaking of wet, it's probably just the weather.
It's been abnormally rainy this month and these storms combined with tropo may be to blame.

I am certain it is something atmospheric as my signal levels have been jumping all over the place while the equipment is not being changed. Also lost signal during the Preakness telecast but not during the race itself.

Buffalo and area stations have been very strong for me lately in Kitchener. To the extent that I don't even need to be aimed at Buffalo to receive them at night.

I had decent reception, on the weekend, from the east end of Lake Ontario, when I finally seen Utica(RF29) show up for a couple of days. It's been an off tropo year, so far, but that may change by the weekend.

Nice localized tropo this morning. Most of my Buffalo's, Rochester's, Syracuse and Watertown stations are in nicely. Also see strong signals on two Utica stations, WUTR and WKTV. Also seeing WTEN, out of Albany, as well. Trying to see if there is some of the outer local tropo, but have not seen Elmira, Binghamton, or Burlington, Vermont. Still scanning..........

I agree with PrinceLH! Great tropo today so far! Getting the full "Rochester Burst" here in Markham (including the VHF pair WHEC RF10 and WHAM RF13, plus low powered W42CO on RF42.) Also caught Utica's WKTV (RF29) very briefly for a couple of mins. Syracuse is blinking on the signal meter, but not in yet. I feel like I have to watch as much WHEC on RF10 as I can, as this fall I probably won't see it after Barrie's CKVR lights up digitally on the same channel.

I have been noticing similar bad reception from Buffalo the last few weeks.

I just installed my OTA setup last fall, and with everyone always saying that reception was best in summer, I was looking forward to the summer months.

But, my experience has been exactly the opposite. Reception was rock solid for me on all Buffalo stations all winter long, but has been horrendous for the past couple of weeks. I have been losing stations most nights.

Tonight, every Buffalo station is dropped.

The Tropo forecast is showing some strong levels right now according to http://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo.html which is probably why your not getting a signal. Probably some interference.

I don't think it's interference.

Since I put my 4221 on the roof with a tripod, things have been solid up until now. I did have bad tropo on a warm day. However, the last few weeks, I am talking about MIA for more than a day...rainy, stormy, or warm and nice.

Now the Canadian channels are putting out ads about the OTA digital switch and it is even more discouraging my reception is less than acceptable.

I'm located at Keele and Dundas and I had strong Buffalo stations all day until this evening and now I'm getting nothing, due, I expect, to the tropo interference.
