CKCO 13 from Kitchener is actually pretty clean, better than CFTO 9 & CHCH 11 tonite

did a scan this morning around 10,picked up 29 stations(usually 13 is the norm)received the big 4 from rochester(nbc,abc,fox,cbs)and even received wsyr syracuse,which is a first.great day for scanning,thats for sure.:)

Again, good tropo tonight- ION booming.

Reception is great tonight with ion and wnyb. They were out all winter.

Same for me here just south of Kitchener. I just re-scanned, and I'm pulling in all the Buffalo channels high strength, and even WXXI from Rochester as well, mapped to 21.1 thru 21.3. I had WNGS a couple times last year, but no luck this year. I'll keep scanning, though!

In recent days, we have had poor reception of both 17-1 and 17-2. All other channels are fine. Anyone else with the same issue?

Buffalo and Rochester coming in strong tonight--including WNGS.

Had the first visit of the season from Bowling Green, OH PBS WBGU today.

I caught Bowling Green a few weeks ago. I'd rotate that way right now, but I'm recording stuff from Buffalo.

Yep, it's that time of the year with 'evil tropo' happening... even though it's not quite warm yet.

It's the usual result: I'm getting ION for a change, but that means losing Fox 29 in the evening. :rolleyes:

Yesterday afternoon I was getting a booming ION, but lost out on WYNO.

Not used to seeing that station in early afternoon.

The OTA gods giveth and taketh away. All week conditions were very good, and my edge channels (WNYO, ION) were booming, but yesterday and today, the edge channels are gone; and WUTV (RF 14) has been MIA which is a very rare occurrence, and must be related to the onslaught of moisture and fluctuating temperatures. Any who, I would fiddle with the set-up (e.g., remove splitter) if something watchable was on (see HD sports), so no great loss...

Must be bad weather over the lake. Lost pretty much everything. WNED is in and out. All TO ok.

Apparently areas near the lake are covered in fog. This could be the reason for weak stations...

I'm glad you mentioned this. I've been thinking maybe it was my antenna. Usually I have rock-solid reception on everything. But with this thick fog (I'm in it), I'm missing NBC, CBS, ABC, MyTV, ION, and TCT. Very rare occurrance...seems to correspond to extremely foggy days.

The rest are sub 33% signal (>45% needed for lock)

Might optimize some of the others and reduce events like this. Perhaps receive CHCH reliably.
