Great game..sucks to be Canada but..
I was pulling for Canada but its hard not to feel happy for a bunch of Russian kids who pulled victory out of defeat over and over again in the medal round. They were beyond overjoyed and you also got to see in the extreme closeups of their faces just how young they are. We should not forget that this tournament features young people who could be delivering your paper...
My favourite game was the USA/Canada tilt. The Canadians tried to play an aggressive forecheck game that requires a lot of skating and hitting. I really think they ran out of gas in this one from all the exertion that style of game takes. You could see it near the end of the second that many of the lines were heavy legged and trying to get back to their zone after losing the puck on the forecheck was harder and harder.
Gotta love JR. hockey. I am a season ticket holder for the Ottawa 67`s and anyone who follows it knows..NO lead is safe. hee hee...and it was proven in the championship game.Congrats to the Russians..full value for heart and competitive "never say die" attitudes.
