Sad to see who went home tonight. I didn't think they'd win, but I really wanted to see them in the final leg.

I just came back from vacation and watched 2 episodes back to back. Glad last week was a non elimination.

No surprise about last night, luck had to run out.

Great people though.

I don't know why, but it always bugs me when teams "cheat". The key factor in this episode was the bike ride to determine the distance. Only a few teams got it on their own. The others just got the answer from another team. Only the cowboys needed to go back to the start and do it again - this was their downfalling.

I don't mind as much when they give each other directions, etc.. but giving the answer to a specific challenge/task seems wrong. Perhaps its just part of the game.

I agree, on a few occasions the Globetrotters were giving the answers. Hopefully a rule change kicks in next year.

Definitely agree, since the rules stated if you give the incorrect answer then you have to travel back to the start and do it again. I was waiting to see if there would be a penalty given for those teams (and sadly there wasn't).

Not fair at all to the cowboys.

Instead of driving back; why not just keep submitting cards with successive guesses.... 20 km, 21, 22, 23, etc.
Or better yet... use the scale of the map and your shoe lace to determine the distance.

Yeah I agree. I was also waiting for Phil to give them penalties for cheating/assisting with the answer.

I was rooting for the cowboys so I was mad about that. I felt it was unfair but teams helping other teams out and collaborating is pretty common.

OTOH, If Jet hadn't taken off on Gary then he might have learned it was 22 km.

What I felt was the non-elimination leg should have been after (Not before) the Double U-turn.

Good point about the double u-turn. There was the potential for one team to have a speedbump and both detours to contend with.

What I thought was pretty ridiculous is that Gary and Mallory's loss in the previous episode was meaningless. First, they have a catch-up so everyone is back on an equal footing and then the speedbump is figuring out that 25:1 ratio meant they needed to bump 2 litres of gas.

... and no flights or "Hours of Operation" to contend with meant that any mistake would put you at the back of the pack.

Was the previous double u-turn at the last check point?

Could've been an chaotic leg (and exciting one to watch) if teams weren't sharing answers, but any episode that shows Switzerland is a good episode personally speaking (the familiar Zermatt and the double-decker city trains that I used to take daily for months).

Too bad the cowboys got eliminated. In addition to what's already been mentioned, I think it's meaningless to put the double u-turn just before a simple travel to the pitstop. It makes much more sense to set it up early in the leg like they used to to encourage teams to use it.

I did like the closing credits musical tribute to the cowboys. Nice touch.

Never been a fan of ganging up on people (roadblock) that directly results in a teams elimination.

With or without the roadblock, the cowboys were in last and there to stay.

I have to agree...to make it far more exciting they have to eliminate sharing answers.

I believe the Globetrotters were eliminated last time because one of them couldn't add.

Problem is that sharing answers happens in many episodes.

In Episode 1, the cowboys were in trouble when several communicated to each other that the password was "I am Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" to receive their next clue.

I too was disappointed to see the cowboys eliminated. You could see that even Phil was disappointed.

I am trying to remember, did any of the other teams give the wrong answer? The clue did say if you got it wrong you had to start over, but if they were given the correct one before giving their answer, then I guess they aren't violating that. I do agree there is a line there that was crossed though.

I think the double U-turn is better than the previous U-turns as long as two teams do get U-turned. I agree though that it would be better if U-turn was earlier in the leg to both give teams more time to recover from it and to make it more likely to have two teams U-turned. It can't be too early though as you need some uncertainty as to who is behind you.

Sorry as well to see the cowboys go and agree with all the comments re: other teams sharing answers and putting the double u-turn right before the pit stop of an elimination leg.

In addition to being patently unfair, putting the double u-turn on an elimination leg deprives the show of a lot of interesting tension in subsequent legs. Think of what might have happened on the next leg, had the cowboys not been eliminated and been able to confront the other teams for conspiring against them.

I'm pretty disappointed in the Speed Bumps this season. They seem almost inconsequential.

Well given the amount of ganging-up I am going to toss my predictions out the window. If this continues anyone can get tossed if the others teams reveal the answers.

Usually the last few legs have an extremely tough physical challenge. It will be interesting to see how that plays out with the weaker teams. No amount of copying will save them then.
