I swear that in that last episode one of the contestants tells the Chinese taxi driver "Gracias."

Because, as all Americans know, all foreigners speak only Spanish.

Yes, and all Canadians are utterly sophisticated, multi-lingual and tolerant. Except for when we assume our superiority to our American counterparts.... Ciao PFD!

Very happy with who won the last leg and who went home.

Only little boys cry.

At the risk of being accused of political correctness/stereotyping, I thought it a bit odd Luke would be so bad at a task that involved two of the five senses he actually has, i.e. smell and taste. I have always understood that persons who have limited/no use of one of their senses tend to develop enhanced sensory perception wrt some or all of the other four (i.e. blind people tend to hear better, etc.). I appreciate there's no biological reason for deaf persons to developed enhanced senses of smell or taste, but for the deaf contestant to be far and away the WORST at using another one of his senses - that's what I found odd.

From what I have read, it is a myth that hearing impaired people have heightened other senses.

Here is one link that I've read (it talks about sight impaired, but the same argument would hold).

Since we first saw him, I've wondered if Luke has other developmental issues. A lot of times he's exhibited anti-social behavior and seemingly inappropriate breakdowns. It's impossible not to love Margie though!

I am not a shrink, but this could be explained by having an over protective mother who hasn't loosened the apron strings enough to let him develop into a man. Don't remember them talking about a father either so lack of a male role model might also be a factor. Inability to communicate with others doesn't help social development. Just some thoughts.

I suppose if his mother were an anonymous entity it might be possible to conjure this kind of Norma Bates conspiracy theory. But in this case we have the advantage of hours and hours of footage of his mother and that evidence indicates the opposite. I do agree though that there is something else wrong with him besides the hearing issue.

I was thinking the same thing as well. Seems like he's got social developmental issues.

[off topic] The Harlem Globetrotters rolled into Toronto this weekend so my wife and I went to check them out. Flight Time played but no Big Easy... after the game, during the autograph session, a few people asked him about the Race and if they ended up winning. Of course, his standard answer was "you'll just have to keep watching." It's great to meet someone on TV in person... [/off topic]

Ron, it's like a little kid who easily gets distracted. Not sad to see him go home. Now, he can wonder off and eat what he wants.

Ron and his eating was amusing but they are a weak team so no surprise they lost.

Vixen's jump in the disgusting water probably saved them from losing.

I'm hoping for Jet and Chord to take it all.

I'm still rooting for the southern belle and her dad.

Yeah I'm rooting for the Cowboys, Gary & Mallory, or Flight Time & Big Easy.

Yeah, they're a nice couple. The girl is always smiling and happy.

Yeah we're hoping for the southern lass and her dad as well...I swear you could say Shoehorn and should would start laughing.

They aren't really a strong team from any one perspective...but they are ok at about everything.

I predict Zev will have "issues" in a coming episode that will lead to their elimination. Notice how much they focused on his Asperger.

Jet and Cord are my favorites. They are respectful, humble, funny and very quick witted. They are deadly accurate and not a team I would like to have breathing down my neck.

They seem to have cut back on the Gravy too. :)

Kent and Vyx are out of their league and will soon be gone. So I guess that just leaves Gary and Mal to get knocked out as well. Leaving,

Jet and Cord
Flight Time and Big Easy
LaKi$ha and Jen

Pretty straight-forward leg. I still don't know why Jet and Cord took a later flight. Yes a gamble but since all the other teams were on the other flight they could rode with the pack and easily played to a safe finish.

It was a gamble. I think they were hoping that the other teams would be significantly delayed and they would get a huge advantage out of it.

Yeah it didn't seem like a good gamble since both teams had connections. If it was the last leg I could see that. I guess they really wanted those Fords. :-)
