I put my account on hold for now since my trial is pretty much up.
The content is still seriously lacking, enough so that I don't feel that $8/mth is worth it as this time.

When they add some more content, I'll be happy to sign up, hopefully that will be some time soon!

I've come across a couple movies that still don't play correctly with the latest update, namely Gattaca and Reservoir Dogs. When I called customer service I was told the movies would be restreamed for the ps3 in the next 72 hours. Haven't seen a change yet though :(

On a different topic... As far as all of the comments about the unavailable movies, I think people might be missing Netflix's intentions in including these in their search function. When you select an unavailable movie, they give several selections of movies they feel are similar. Understanding they don't have a full catalog of movies they just want to help you find something you might like.

Netflix has asked me both yesterday and today to reactivate my PS3... which forces me to enter the email and password again. It works once I do that but don't know if anyone else is having that problem.

I have two PS3's activated (and have used my iPhone4 sometimes). Both PS3's are in my house so should look to Netflix like they have the same IP... I'm not doing anything fishy on my end.

My trial was over and they have billed me so that should not be the problem, and like I said once I enter the user/password everything works fine.

Any suggestions?

I think it has to do with the switch from trial account to full fledged member. I figure it trips something in their system. I had to do it as well today.

Netflix comes to 360 tomorrow with the dashboard update. Should it have it's own thread?

re: netflix on xbox - It's for once an area where the PS3 really outshines the xbox. The xbox version in my limited testing is much slower to load content, and very unreliable when fast forwarding. I got thrown back out as if I'd hit stop when just hitting play, and at least once it didn't have any idea where I had left off and started me back at the beginning again. Even the PQ seems better, but that has way too many variables to really say that is a real issue or just the way my system is set up.

Seems like more content keeps trickling in. I've found enough that its paying for itself in kids movies, some old classics, and discovering overlooked movies. Its still really hard to browse/find stuff, and it would be great to at least bookmark stuff as you can't even reliably find a show/movie you were watching last week (say a series that you were halfway through), and multiple seasons of the same show should be linked.

Couldn't agree with you more. Plus add the fact that you have to have a gold membership to access Netflix on Xbox makes it completely unacceptable.

Who writes the software for these apps? I figured it was Netflix writing the app for both the PS3 and Xbox. But it can't be since they're so different. I guess its the console manufacturers who write the software.

Either way, I'm sticking to the PS3 Netflix. Xbox Netflix gets an F.

I've been having some picture quality problems with dark scenes. The greys and blacks all run into each other to make scenes difficult to watch. Is it just me, or is this a problem other people are having too?

Are you streaming with high quality ? Some scenes are dark. Seems normal to me. Can you say which movies/shows you were looking at and about the timeline it is ?

Make sure you have logged into Netflix.ca and set your quality to mid or high. It is set to low quality by default due to our low transfer caps.

I hadn't been keeping track specifically of what movies we were watching when we had problems with dark scenes but found one again over the weekend. For the record, I do have my quality preferences set to high. We were watching "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and I made note of two points where the blacks started to wash out. One scene starts at about 10:00 and gets especially bad at 10:08, another was at about 14:40. Can anyone let me know how they look on their ps3?

thanks

I checked the spot that you mentioned on both the PS3 and the Ipad; both shows the same level 'fading to darkness' as you described. The question is if this is a bad transfer or if the DVD movie is the same way. If someone could check, we would know for sure.
