Coupling is a British classic. A more realistic Friends, and as you say amusing. They tried to remake it for the US audience. Took it wholesale but dropped the sexual references. Obviously there is nothing left and it didn't get past the pilot.

As a British ExPat myself, finding Coupling, Yes Minister, BlackAdder, Fawlty Towers etc on there is great.

I tried watching Fawlty Towers last night and the audio/video sync was terrible. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm gonna give all those a try. Getting a personalized favourites list is becoming essential. I hope they're working on it.

Yes. But I think my DVD might even be a little off - some issue in the PAL conversion of this series for some reason?

Doesn't seem to be a place on the site to send them feedback (outside of their preset categories for problems).

I've really been enjoying Netflix on my PS3. I've never seen Mad Men, so it's great to catch up on a show that's in HD, and DDEX. I find the quality and interface quite good.

... still hoping the NBC Universal announcement applies to Canada.

Does anybody know how to tell the Netflix App to use SD only? Just trying to figure out if there is a way to save on bandwidth.

Really enjoying Leverage Season 1, btw.

Cheers

Log into netflix.ca and click Your Account & Help. Then goto the bottom of the page and click Disable HD streaming.

Signed up last night and I like what I see so far.
Lots of stuff I've never seen before and some stuff I'm impressed by seeing - like the selection of Japanese campy "gore" movies like 'Machine Girl', 'Samurai Princess' and 'Tokyo Gore Police'.
Having said that, I watched one episode of "Hoarders" and almost puked!

I've noticed a few films on the PS3 that stretch vertically to fill the 16:9 display frame, and can't find a way to get around it. 4:3 content from the PS3 displays fine with side bars, and 16:9 full frame is fine as well.

Are others seeing the same? A good film to test this is 'Dune', in 2.35:1 widescreen. Using the PC Netflix client, it displays fine, with good HD quality on a monitor with black bars above and below the picture. On the PS/3, it's stretched vertically so the width is correct but the picture is stretched (skinny tall characters).

Yes a few picks I quickly exited were skinny/tall through my PS3. I just gave upp on them. Unwatchable for me.

Worth mentioning, the PS Move Navigation controller is a perfect little Netflix remote.

Can you use it for that without the rest of the Move package? i.e. Just buy and use that component.

Watched all the Auschwitz episodes. PS3 had problems running Episode 5. Was able to watch it online. Episode 6 worked fine on the PS3.

I hope they add more movies and shows otherwise I will be canceling my account.

Just got an email from Netflix asking how the picture and audio quality was on "Erik the Viking". (both were fine).
Wish they asked me about Dune.

When I connected tonight to Netflix using the PS3, it downloaded version 2 of the Netflix client. It's been a couple of days since I've used the PS3 to connect to Netflix, so I don't know exactly when it was released.

I immediately tried Dune and 500 days of summer, two titles that were screwed up for aspect ratio, and they played perfectly - they now display as a widescreen image with black bars above and below the picture, the same as they were playing in the Netflix PC client.

I'd contacted Netflix customer support about this a couple weeks back, and they said they'd have someone call me back. They did a few days later when I wasn't home and left a message saying to contact Sony and check my PS3 settings. I didn't bother calling back, as I'd already told them that 4:3 and 16:9 played perfectly, as did 2:35 from a DVD or other source. Looks like they finally saw the light and realized it was a problem with their software.

We finally signed up for the free month a week or so ago. Last night we were also prompted to update the Netflix client. We had previously been in the middle of watching a movie I had given feedback on as "unwatchable". Last night it was perfect.

We were really impressed! I'm still not impressed with the selection though, but will admit they seem to keep adding more titles each day. Not sure we will keep it.

I'm not sure this has been asked but:

By now we all know that our selection is pretty limited, but using the search function there all kinds of titles that are there but unavailable. I'm wondering if they'll become available after the free trial is complete, or will they remain as is to tease us.

I believe those are titles that they don't have the Canadian rights for.
