Welll,... It's official: Bell to acquire CTV (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=129466)
Today's headline news stories "Bell is acquiring full ownership of CTV, Canada’s most-watched television network."
This could be the OTA breaker for CTV?

You never know. At this point, Rogers and Shaw seem to be the most enthusiastic supporters of digital OTA, paradoxically. I could see Bell going either way.

I agree that it could go either way. On the one hand keeping OTA is it is a strong argument against FFC (how can you charge for something you are giving away for free). On the other hand Bell treats simultaneous substitution differently than the cable companies and will do the same thing nation wide, regardless of whether there is a local transmitter or not.
Already being discussed here (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=129466).
