 CHWI-DT16 has gone off air, as WSMH RF16 66-1 FOX Flint is coming in on and off via tropo... Before this, CHWI would not lock and had continuous errors and broken up picture/audio since the flash cut. Guess it's being worked on now.

CFCN (CTV) analog Channel 4 in Calgary is off already! Sometime after the local news ended, I presume. Thought we had another day to go … Oh well.

It appears that CTV is the only move happening tonight. Is anyone going to get any sleep tonight? :p
2011-08-31, 03:24 AM
No sleep here, but I work all night every day anyway.

Surprisingly my computer tuner card is picking up CFTO a little bit better than the TV (last checked).
Here is a TSReader graphic:

CHWI-26 is back, and with Infomercials (that's a first; gotta pay for the digital equipment somehow ;)).

Unfortunately here is CKCO RF13:
Sure different from the TSReader capture I got on the 23rd of August (see previous post (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showpost.php?p=1302638&postcount=442)). Hope everyone is right and tropo is killing the signals, or they aren't transmitting at full power.

Reports in the Vancouver station status thread (http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=134648) say the CTV and CTV Two stations there have completed their switch to digital.

Yup. CTV and CTVtwo are digital now. PSIP working absolutely fine along with program guide. :D

CTV, CFTO now digital on VHF-hi in Toronto

CHWI 16 was coming in last night around midnight with broken picture and sound, even though strength was around 60-70%. I tune in this morning and it's down to 30%, not enough to lock in. The usually reliable Global is around the same this morning for some reason, so I don't know if it's just some weird tropo or I won't be able to get 16 on a reliable basis.
CHWI26 shows a signal, but I never got a lock because it's just too weak.

CFTO in RF9 here in Burlington. 82% strength 85% quality, which concerns me.
RF9 analogue was always quite snowy with my setup so the quality doesn't surprise me. I always had poor results with RF40 so this is actually an improvement but time will tell if this is going to be reliable for me.

Exciting Day here in North West Miss. Hard to know with the tropo, but my three tuners (indoor attic antennas various formats -- outlined previously) are picking up 9.1 at 100%, 92% and 88%. Crystal Clear.
Simply luv it.

CTV is gone for me.
I am 2km away from the CN Tower and my 4221HD on my roof has a direct line of sight of the CN Tower. I woke up, and CTV at channel 9 is gone. The signal jumps from 20-40%, but never enough for a lock.
I am extremely disappointed. I hope this is just testing, and they turn up the power real soon.
2011-08-31, 09:04 AM
power is fine. I had to rescan rather than add channel mannually. Try it.
2011-08-31, 09:09 AM
I just tried rescanning, and it still does not pick up CTV.

Just talked to CHWI's (and CFPL's) engineer. 16 is working on PSIP issues right now, so maybe they powered down the transmitter a little to do it? That could explain the large drop in signal.
CKCO 13.1 is now coming in for me here in London. Broadcasting in HD !
At the time of last night's switch, CKCO must have not have been broadcasting at 12kW ERP.
