BEV Channel 405 is SNETO which is Sportsnet Ontario, not Sportsnet One. My mistake. Now I realize, 2 hours before game time, the Man Utd game is out of reach despite my paying $15.99/mth for Setanta SD, a channel owned by Rogers.

Another example of Rogers screwing even the people willing to pay extra for soccer. Setanta now mainly plays English Championship & Serie A games.

last comment not true! For example, 4 EPL on Setanta today, obviously two of them a few hours delayed. Three weeks from now there are 3 attractive games on the Sunday, usually two on a Sunday. Also always the No. 1 choice 10 am game on a Saturday and all Tuesday/Wednesday EPL games are on Setanta. All in all a total of 1-2 EPL games down from last year.

All Tuesday/Wednesday games are not on Setanta, Sportsnet has 1 Tuesday game scheduled for every Tuesday that there is a game, so does Sportsnet One. Setanta may still have first choice though.

been almost 2 years since I've had cable TV and was looking forward to sitting down nice and proper to watch manchester united play. With Shaw in edmonton...looks like the matches will be scattered all over the play and setanta doesn't look that appealing since they don't have the matches? What's the one "budget channel" I should I get? Used to live in the states and Fox Sports always had man united games and only they had it...in one place...every week. Looks like it's back to watching games on the internet with random links from the mid east.

TSN2 would be your best cheap bet if you want United games, they have the Saturday 7:45am game. Setanta will probably have most United games though, as far as Premier League goes.

For Champions League they will be pretty evenly divided between TSN and Sportsnet, with a couple on Setanta.

I wonder why neither Setanta nor Gol TV are showing Euro 2012 qualifying today. The only match on TV in Canada is Estonia v Italy on RAI International in Italian.

For Gol TV its because ESPN3.com have rights to everything except England matches, so they can't take the Gol TV US feed. Not sure for Setanta, it seems odd that they didn't pick up rights to any of the Home Nations and Ireland games at the least.

TV5 has the France game in French too.

thanks josh...guess i'll just stick with digital tv on shaw since TSN2 is in that and the internet for Setanta united matches

Don't forget CBC Bold. They broadcast FIFA tournaments along with CBC and TSN. Right now they are showing the Canada games from the U17 FIFA Women's World Cup, and will presumably carry more senior tournaments as they come up. It's available in HD, though not where I live (wah).

Thanks to PlayitSimple for the great list and Veee for the link!

TSN doesn't have FIFA tournaments, only CBC and CBC Bold do.

The Euro2012 isn't a FIFA tournament. It's a UEFA tournament, with separate broadcasting contracts.

Fact is there are absolutely ,positively no Live broadcasts of the Euro qualifying games in English , in Canada.

I Wonder why I shell out 15 bucks a month for Setanta.

Canada must be the only major TV market in the World not broadcasting these games in English.

I'll rely on Veetle from now on ....

Only England home games are on TV in the states, the rest are only available online at ESPN3.com.

I also doubt that it is the only major TV market in the world not broadcasting them in English. It might be the only major English TV market, but I doubt they are available in English in Italy, Spain etc.

During a sports news break in the tennis they said the Switzerland v England match would be on TSN2 at 8pm. It's not mentioned at their website schedule. I wish I'd known that in advance or wouldn't have been listening on the radio.

Thanks for the headsup. This is a surprise. I guess I know what I'll be watching tonight. It is listed on TSN2's schedule now.
