That may have been the most amazing sports event I've ever watched. The only thing that rivals it was that Penguins-Flyers playoff game that went to 5OT back in 2000.

I put TSN on twice before the Denmark v Japan match started. I did so again four times during the football match. (Yes, I counted). And I put it on again as soon as the match ceased to be a contest. All seven times TSN was either at a commercial or ESPN was doing an interview with tennis players or talking about the Queen. Did they show any actual tennis this afternoon?

I was watching Wimbledon on TSN who were providing NBC coverage. Just before 1pm Ted Robinson (who was commentating with Mary Carillo) said if you are on the east coast you'll have to switch to ESPN 2 to continue watching the tennis. So at 1pm EST TSN's coverage automatically switched to ESPN with Patrick McEnroe and someone whose voice is not familiar to me. Curious about Robinson specifying the east coast I switched to NBC's Seattle affiliate. (Their Detroit affiliate is showing 'Days Of Our Lives'). Coverage is continuing on the NBC Seattle channel with Robinson and Carillo. So as I type this both ESPN2 (via TSN) and NBC are showing the same match - Roddick v Lu. It's strange to have two American channels showing the exact same sports event at the same time.

I don't know that this is that unusual, in this case I imagine that the East Coast is getting their regularly daily soaps and ESPN is showing soccer this aft. The networks likely don't provide much programming of value on weekday mornings so why not show Wimbledon? I can remember this happening on weekends as well where the East Coast may switch to showing primetime content while the west stays with a sporting event. Now that there are so many other channels available they may farm out the content to the cable channel.

I know that for some golf tournaments that have gone late that the network has moved coverage over to The Golf Channel - but I can't remember if that was just for the east coast or not.

It's not much use to ESPN for them to have a match that is on ESPN2 when OTA channels throughout the West are showing the same thing. I thought they'd have an agreement not to show the same matches at the same time. Normally the coverage ends on one network as another picks up coverage so there's no overlap.

NBC's coverage is also better as they have no bottom line ticker.

Are there separate ESPN feeds for east and west coast? If so then it would not be available on both channels (NBC&ESPN) to folks other than those who have access to "out of market" channels -like Canadians with digital cable. Do they even get timeshift channels in the US - ie. if you are on the east coast do you get the Seattle channels (and vice-versa)?

NBC aired live coverage in every timezone from 10am-1pm, it is the first time they've did this. In previous years they aired live coverage in the east, and tape delayed the same coverage in the west.

Now that leads to to explain the ESPN2 situation, they were blacked out from 10am-1pm in each timezone while NBC provided coverage. So ESPN2's coverage of Lu-Roddick was not available in the Pacific Time Zone. In fact Canadians were the only people who got to see coverage on both networks at the same time.

I also stuck with NBC because they don't have a ticker.

How nice of Global to simsub over NBC for a good couple minutes.

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads-up (although anyone who watches Wimbledon regularly probably already knows)

Tomorrow ESPN2 will have live coverage of Zvonareva-Pironkova from 8:00am ET. Because of the broadcast deal between ESPN2 and NBC, the second ladies semi final between S. Williams and Kvitova will not air live, it will be on NBC at noon local time on tape delay. This will also be on TSN at noon ET. If you want to watch the Williams-Kvitova match live it will be on RDS.

The same thing will happen Friday with the mens semis, although it isn't as bad because Berdych-Djokovic could go 4 hours, which would mean both semis would be live.

Murray v Nadal was not shown live but an hour or so behind.

ummm, shouldnt the global simsub be dropped by now? they are showing some crap that I assume NBC isnt showing.

TV made me do that? lol.

Global has "scheduled" wimbledon til 11am, so I wouldnt doubt if this error stays til then.

sad.

Did Global continue airing Wimbledon until after the trophy ceremony, or did they cut away just after the match finished?

I'm getting a bit tired of having these horrible women's finals at Wimbledon (and the other majors) every year.

Right now NBC could be showing live coverage of the men's doubles final, instead they are showing Murray-Nadal from yesterday.

Note to women tennis players..if you don't have a decent first serve and also a 2nd serve that is more than just a "put the ball in play" club level thing? Don't play Serena. She will make you look like an amateur. Which its very possible you are.considering the ****kicking you are going to take. Thanks....hee hee

Only about a 5 minute error today, better than yesterday.....

Global shows the beginning of the trophy ceremony and thats it.
