Hi all
I was watching a PVR'ed program and suddenly audio drops out. I have my PVR connected to a receiver via coax, with Dolby Digital selected in the PVR settings. This is the only way I ever watched my stuff.
I started to do a little troubleshooting and tried connecting the PVR via optical to my receiver - still no go, no sound when Dolby Digital audio was selected. Also tried another coax cable to see if it was a bad cable.
I then changed the setting to "Other" in the PVR and both optical and coax were now transmitting a signal to the receiver - of course, only stereo.
The only thing that solved it was a full reboot (unplug/replug) of the PVR.
Now here's the question ... this was purchased less than a year ago at Future Shop. Should I take it in for warranty or wait and see if it happens again? Perhaps this was a one-time blip.
If I do take it in, where do I take it in? Rogers or Future Shop? Do I need my original receipt or will Rogers have a record?
Thanks!
