it isn't designed to penetrate walls.. it is not a competitor to WiFI, it is to be used for wireless HD Signal transfers between devices (a PC and a Projector for example)

I got that part, but if you are in the same room as the device you're connecting to, I hardly think a (most likely very expensive) wireless solution is really worth it over the cost/hassle of plugging in a cable.

Sounds like one of those technologies that sounds good in theory, but will have a very small niche market.. doesn't seem that great to me.
