I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but here we go:

NBC officially announced the show's cancellation on May 14, 2010, and confirmed it would not return for season five. However, it is looking into ways to wrap up the storylines with a possible mini-series or movie.

I actually haven't watched Heroes before, but my Uncle loves this show.

What's your thoughts/opinions on the cancellation and possible movie?

Season One is great. If you haven't seen it, try to borrow the DVDs or pick it up cheap. After that it collapsed under it's own weight with way to many "special" people constantly added to the mix.

spensar summed it up perfectly. Thank goodness this series can be put to rest.

Agree completely with spensar as well. Every new episode just made me more and more tired of this we've-spread-ourselves-too-thin show. While I cared about the characters back in season one, I couldn't give a flying fudge about anyone in the later seasons. Thank god this show is finally ending, though I am looking forward to seeing what kind of resolution they come up with. At any rate, I have season one on Blu-ray; I'm happy to ignore the rest.

cheers,

I didn't start watching Heroes until season 2, I plan on getting season 1 on DVD this summer.

I'm not surprised. I followed season 1 and 2, but couldn't finish season 3. They story didn't catch me at all and I couldn't stand Claire Bear anymore.

Finally.

I own the first season on DVD. And I think it was one of the best first seasons of any show. It had so much promise.

Everything after that season was utter crap. Sad.

It was crap, but watchable crap, send the writers to V

I think my Uncle has the first season on DVD, so I'll borrow it from him to watch :)

It'll be interesting to see what the movie version will be like (if they do go ahead with it)

I agree with what everyone else said. Season 1 was excellent, one of my favorite shows. Then I dont know what happened but the show got really BAD in the second season, and then much much worse in season 3. I stopped watching during season 3 but presumably it got even worse after that.

RIP

I really liked the first two seasons, then steadily lost interest after that, as the show collapsed under the weight of its own complexity (Eden McCain was also my favourite character, and she got killed off pretty quickly).
