Holy cow that is a lot of transmitters. I wonder what does NTV have in the way of a transmission network on the island?

CJBR-TV Rimouski – Licence amendment

1. The Commission approves an application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to amend the broadcasting licence for the French-language television programming undertaking CJBR-TV Rimouski in order to add a post-transition digital transmitter in Rimouski. The Commission did not receive any intervention in connection with this application.

What's the story on this? Bell TV also added SRC Rimouski today.

downbeat, you raise a very good point. I would hope they could have prepared for that, though. I'll give it some time before I contact them and inquire.

LONSat, yes the CBC's network of transmitters in NL amazes me. Surely many of them are serving only handfuls (if any) of homes.

NTV doesn't have that many. Check the CJON Wikipedia page for a list. Much shorter. That said, NTV probably covers more area with each of their transmitters.

The US has gone through all of these trial & error pains, but nobody in Canada seems to be listening and learning from the US's failures and experiences. It will take Canada's broadcast industry another 2 years to learn anything from the US's DTV experience.
