The CRTC announced today the addition of a new area code for those living in the 905.

Starting in March, 2013, new telephone numbers in the 905 may be given the area code 365. Existing numbers will remain unchanged.

Currently, those living outside of Toronto in the GTA are assigned telephone numbers with either the area codes 289 and 905.

But, according to the Canadian Numbering Administrator, the region is expected to run out of those numbers by 2014 due to rapid growth.
