Not that I'm complaining, but I'm surprised that the live streaming of NCAA games is not geo-blocked for Canada. I wonder why?

The NCAA owns the worldwide rights. No sense blocking it.

What I was getting at here is what happened to the usual arguments that the Cdn broadcasters (SUN, Score) have the rights in Canada, Cdn cable/satellite providers will lose revenue because consumers will be less likely to watch and subscribe, this streaming does not have CRTC approval, blah, blah.

Obviously the licensing deal for the NCAA tournament is different from other sports...

My guess would be that the NCAA wants as many people as possible to watch the tournament. They also know that the majority of people who have TV in Canada have CBS, so they're most likely getting it anyways. It is a bit odd, but I'm glad it's not blocked!
