Audioholics gives a glowing review (http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/projectors/optoma-hd20-dlp) to the relatively inexpensive Optoma HD20 DLP Projector

From their conclusion.

We can't stress enough that the price of this 1080p projector is just amazing. For under a grand you have the ability to get a great big picture for less than the price of a flatscreen at one quarter the size. While it isn't the only sub-$1k projector on the block, the cheaper bulb replacement may win out over the quieter Vivitek H1080FD.

Interesting... probably a $1299 CDN retail??

From this review I'd definately pair it up with a better scaler or a receiver that has good video processing. Nice to see it has full grayscale controls as well as some control over gamma.

Very interesting in deed. The big box chains are starting to carry it as well. I'm in the market for my first projector this might prove to be an inexpensive start. I was considering the Epson 8500UB or the Panasonic 4000 which are quite a bit more expensive (unless I get the Panny from the US in Canada the price is downright outrageous). I wonder if they are really worth 2.5x the price of this Optoma...
