Suprisingly for the first time I'm able to pick up NBC on channel 2-1, as well as sub channels 2-2 and 2-3
Hmm me too I was able to get WGRZ briefly Sat AM with only a ZSS indoor antenna, which till now was never possible.

Is it just me or has WKBW 7.1 improved their power output since for the past few months I can get this station reasonably well though dropouts still happen. The more closer WNED and WUTV are virtually impossible to pick up for me.

I have been receiving the Cleveland stations very strong from my home here in London since yesterday. Area locals should check them out. Including this is also Youngstown, Pittsburgh, Erie and Buffalo.
3-1 WKYC RF17
5-1 WEWS RF15
8-1 WJW RF8
12-1 WICU RF12
16-1 WQEX RF38
17-1 WDLI RF39
23-1 WVPX RF23
24-1 WJET RF24
25-1 WVIZ RF26
43-1 WUAB RF28
55-1 WBNX RF30
23-1 WNLO RF32
33-1 WYTV RF36
27-1 WKBN RF41
49-1 WNYO RF49
61-1 WQHS RF34
66-1 WFXP RF22
2-1 KDKA RF25
11-1 WPXI RF48
53-1 WPGH RF43
44-1 WNEO RF45
47-1 WRLM RF47
62 WYFX-LP analog
52 is a TBN network in analog also

I also pickup a new one
it is 44-1 WNEO but on RF44, my WWJ 62-1 RF44 from Detroit remapped on the PISP.
From Wiki it says that this low powered station serving areas that the WNEO main transmitter does not.
I thought that this was cool
also WRLM is very hard to pick up. This was new too.
Happy tropo this holiday weekend

Quite a list there Mark.
You may have picked up W44CR-D on RF44 from the valley in Youngstown instead of WNEO-DT RF45 from Alliance OH. It's a digital translator for WNEO/WEAO main PBS stations at only 1.5kW! Great catch! See location here (http://www.rabbitears.info/contour.php?appid=1340154)

Yep that WRLM is on a very short tower. I may see it very weak when Akron's ION RF23 and WEAO PBS RF50 come in very strong. WNEO RF45 (45-1) destroyed WDIV here too.

About the only thing going on around here was major co channel last night.
Cleveland was very strong though before 11pm then most stations started dropping totally out. Rare but WTVG 13 Toledo was on the brink due to CKCO 13. London/KW analogs are very annoying when they scream in like last night.

WKYC must be suffering co-channel from another ch17 somewhere far to the east. Most times when WJET just starts to come in WKYC goes from excellent signal to totally gone in then comes back a short time later, on and off. I suspect a low power digital RF17 could be the cause somewhere within 150 miles in Pennsylvania possibly.

Anyone with VHF lo gear should really check RF2,3 periodically, especially the last couple of days. E skip had been frequent out there. Decent shot at getting a very far digital station. Check channels on analog mode first. Note when darker/fuller bursts of 'snow' are seen. This is an ATSC pilot amongst Canandian/Mexican NTSC garble.

alas, I have been able to pick up a new West Virginia station this afternoon around 6PM local time.
it is channel 6-1 WVVA-DT RF46 NBC located in Bluefield, West Virginia.
I really have not rotated from 170 degrees on my rotor which is towards Youngstown, Oh.
Looks like it is roughly 350-370 miles.
Oh course the digital camera had dead batteries, so by the time it came and went I was SOL. I'm pretty sure the PISP will stay for a while since I really don't pull any statins on RF46

Phil, to get back to the reception of 45-1 WNEO; I was receiving both 45-1 WNEO on RF44, and 45-1 WNEO RF45 at the same time. The signal on RF45 had a SNR of 29 while on RF44 it was a SNR of 15 or so.
I made the mistake in stating 44-1 WNEO in the previous post
actually co channel has been bad between 54-1 WQLN RF 50, 49-1 WEAO RF 50, and 25-1 WVIZ RF26 and TBN from Jamestown on RF26 also

Here's one for ya
I was watching the ball game this afternoon on FOX from these stations on an off as reception came in and out
66-1 WFXP RF22 Erie,Pa
53-1 WPGH RF43 Pittsburgh,Pa
27-2 WYFX RF41 Youngstown, Oh

The least compression, best picture was on 53-1

this just in as of 7:30PM, following the tropo to the east I am now picking up Altoona,Pa
channel 6-1 WJAC NBC RF34
channel 10-1 WTAJ CBS RF32

Anyone else lose their Toronto/Hamilton stations tonight? Around 9pm, I started losing Toronto stations. CBC 5.1 was down to 60% and it's almost always 100. Then a few minutes later, I realized I had lost all of them. I'm stumped. I can't figure this one out. All Buffalo stations are coming in strong, include ION 51.1

Reporting from Kitchener:

Normal reception for me is 5.1, 9.1, 11.1, 17.1, 23.1, 25.1, 36.1, 41.1, 44.1, 57.1, 64.1, 66.1. I'm on the 15th floor of an apartment where most of the buffalo stations are blocked by the building. see here for my tv fool + antenna:

http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=124542

Starting getting good tropo at sunset - stations were watchable (see James Bond note).

I got the usual suspects 2.1, 4.1, 7.1, 21.1, 29.1, 49.1, 51.1 which I don't get normally. Sadly tropo reception for 4.1 died with 10 minutes left in the James Bond movie and I didn't get to see the end.

Some notable stations I picked up - 9.1 in Syracuse showed up for a good hour. WKTV 2.1 in Utica showed up in but was in and out - this was the furthest tv station I received to date - 450km away.

http://datalore.ca/sandbox/ZZ47B45270.jpg

26.1 WNYB showed up - my apartment building blocks this channel completely.

VHF stations - 10.1 WHEC in Rochester (RF 10). I normally receive 8 analog, but it came in real clear, just like a local station. I have an antenna that is really only for UHF so these were pleasant surprises.

New analog station I picked up tonight was CHCH (analog) RF 67 in Muskoka. Very watchable with a bit of snow.

@Jase88: I know I'm in amateur league compared to your antenna setup, but I just got WWTI!

Tonight I've got more than ever! WGRZ's, WKBW, WXXI's, TCT from Buffalo and Rochester, WNYO, WIVB, WROC, WHEC's, WHAM's, and even WKTV. It's a 5 hour drive to Buffalo from here.

@Jase88: height yes, but antenna no. My antenna has a wide beam so I can't 'focus' on a certain direction and I'm on the wrong side of the building for Erie, London, etc. So I can only try for the top of New York State on tropo nights.

I can get Michigan with my weather radio and AM radio, but still haven't been able to get anything from that direction on TV.

Odd that I wasn't getting any VHF tropo...just UHF....oh well.

BTW, The results I posted above are from an experimental antenna that I've recently mounted mounted 25ft above my shop. Not a normal tropo event tonight.

Getting some great results early this morning. Have seen WJAC, out of Johnstown, PA, on RF34. Turned the antenna east and have WTEN out of Albany, NY, on RF 26. I also have WCAX, out of Burlington, VT on RF22 and WPTZ, out of Plattsburgh, NY, on RF14. Continuing to scan......

Got my personal best tonight. WWTI out of Watertown (RF21). Tropo has been wrecking havoc on my steadfast stations, so I decided to do a scan in the wee hours and picked up this station. Screen captures below:

My attic install continues to impress me more and more.

I just took a look on google maps....is that really ~300kms from hamilton? Gees...

Add WQLN RF50, out of Erie, PA. RF34 and 43 out of Albany, NY. Many digital and analog locals from the Toronto area. Analog channel 5, CBC, somewhere to the east, north east, while scanning the Vermont locals. Have also seen a few flickers from Scranton/Wilkesbarre, PA, on RF50. Time for bed....

My antenna is low to the ground and anything east is blocked by my house. Imagine my surprise (last night around 10:30 pm) to pick up 43.1,2 WUAB while aiming at 290 deg. Stranger part was it was showing '19' news. I thought 19 WOIO had their own station, at least they did on analog.

What's really radical about the tropo I've seen this weekend so far,
is not only how far signals are propagating, but also for how long...

e.g. - I've been keeping an eye on this guy, which I first reported seeing back in April in Post #255. It has been there all day yesterday, last night, and still there this morning. Not like I've been sittin around all weekend watching one TV station, but every time I do look, it's there. Almost like the duct has never closed.

27 27.1 WBGU-DT PBS Bowling Green,OH 288
27 27.2 WBGU-DT PBS Kid Bowling Green,OH 288
27 27.3 WBGU-DT Create Bowling Green,OH 288
27 27.4 WBGU-DT Encore Bowling Green,OH 288

I've a few new to me finds as well, I've never seen detroit stations come in here before untl this weekend. And saw this one briefly also...
