Just put my Matrix BD in my BD player. What version of The Matrix was used in the screenshots here? On my version, the digibook, The Matrix starts with one piracy warning, the lovely WB logo and then the movie logos (eerily green tinted WB and Villlage Roadshow logos) and opening credits screen (all skippable). I don't see any of the other junk shown in the post. Was that on the DVD? Unlikely since it includes a Blu-Ray promo. Or was the poster just trying to make a point by showing how ridiculous the start of a disc can be?

my guess is the previously viewed ones from the video store do this.. they actually sell them at discounted prices to their customers, and theyre not the same as ones u buy in big box chains like walmart, bestbuy, fs, hmv. etc.

I find Alliance, Alliance Atlantis DVDs and Blu Rays to be the worst for disabling features during the previews. I usually try to avoid Allaince, Alliance Atlantis DVDs as much as possible.

Behind convenience of having all your movies on a central server being able to strip all this crap out is the 2nd largest reason to rip DVD's/BR.

I find it extremely irritable as well. I just paid $20-$30 for a movie and am forced to watch your ads? Leave ads in rental discs but they have no place in purchases.

I don't mind watching some of the coming soons...but the disks should go to the menu first...and if I choose to watch the prevues then I should be allowed...just like the extras...if I choose to watch or ignor...it should be left up to the consumer who pays the price...

But it's the same at the Theatre these days...you have to sit thru commercials...not just the coming soons...and it sucks...

It's the same with TV...we get told what we can and can't watch...unfortunately we have become a society of Lemmings...not willing to take a firm stand for what we believe in...

I am told that hitting STOP, then STOP (again), then PLAY will go directly to the movie.

Haven't tried it, but if anyone does, let us know.
