I tend to watch regular TV (mostly HD but some SD) on the 46" LCD in the living room in the evening during the week and use the Sanyo Z4 in the basement HT on the weekends to watch movies and perhaps the odd golf tournament or other sporting event. My Z4 is now 5 years old and still going strong (touch wood).
I agree that you don't get the same visual "pop" on a front projector image as you do with an LCD, LED or plasma TV but the screen size more than makes up for it. The picture quality is still pretty impressive with HD content and blu-ray. SD looks plain horrible.
