: Component signal screen split into 3?

I have an RCA rear projection TV Model D52W26. When using the component inputs, it displays the image 3 times on the screen. The screen is split 3 times vertically. My composite input works fine.

What are my chances of this being a convergence CCA problem? Has anyone else experienced this?

Some of the older TVs only accepted 480p or 720p and would screw up the display if fed 1080i or p. Not sure if this is the problem, but worth a check.

Some of the older TVs only accepted 480p or 720p and would screw up the display if fed 1080i or p.All HDTVs accept 1080i, some do not accept 720P, there are sometimes restrictions on 480i/p as well. Sometimes the older TVs have restrictions on certain inputs - one of the CV inputs can sometimes be 480i/P only for example. Try 1080i as the format and make sure the input accepts it - check the TV's specs per input.

Here's the thread on Convergence issues, which can sometimes affect a particular format - say 1080i and be OK on 480i due to the way the convergence ICs are configured. Read post 1 carefully and thoroughly. Perhaps you can post a picture?

Based on the specs, there is only one CV input, however, sometimes these were designed for RGB as well as CV. Make sure it's set in the user setup menu to YPbPr and not RGB.
