Should I remove the reflective screen cover?
Does anyone have basic audio and video calibration settings?

Thanks!

1. Sure, if you like, but probably not if you have small children or pets that can reach the screen. I assume you know the procedure.

2. There are no basic video settings as all TVs are unique. See the following post on the topic:

Screen assembly slides up towards the ceiling, watch out for the magic focus connections on the back of the screen assembly, most people put in a spacer in the channels where the protective screen was. Usually a 2-3 person job to take the screen assembly off due to bulk and the magic focus connections.

Hmmmmm, that's not worth it then. I have my eyes on a Panasonic

this tv for?

Most people don't get much and many give it away to anyone willing to take it away.

I had an offer of $450 but they backed out last second.

Do you know where I can find audio settings that make the speakers sound better? I set mine up a few different ways and I still don't like the sound quality.

TV speakers never sound great. I leave mine at the default, but always listen to an AVR anyway. You might wish to consider an inexpensive HTIB or similar to improve the audio if you're keeping the TV.

If you get the Plasma, those speakers are usually pretty bad and you may wish to consider an HTiB or AVR anyway...

I know. Speakers are horrible on the plasma. I tried using THX on The Incredibles dvd for calibration and it improved it a bit.

Would you agree that my Hitachi is much better than dlp,lcd or plasma as far as Gaming goes?
